Anybody live or have lived in an apartment block?

Our new building won't have NBN as the area doesn't have it yet. We went into Optus today and they've said that because we are at the back of the building, the technicians can't put ADSL or something in.

They then recommended the 4G modem to us.

My questions I guess are, aside from the opening one, does anybody have any experience with 4G modems, or could they recommend something better?

1) No
2) No
3) Recommend not asking jd for help on the matter

Ewoks are the ******* worst. They didn't need at all to be in that movie. They completely take me out of the importance of what happens on Endor.
They were cute to an extent, but once their little bows and arrows started to pierce stormtroopers and kill them, it was a bit ridiculous.

But it doesn't have a sith/Jedi etc.

As I said, it's a movie for the extras in the universe, not the main players. Vader makes a good cameo but that's about it.

If you appreciate it for what it is, it was very good. Just don't think it gets anywhere near the original trilogy for me.

Definitely better than 1 though. Everything is better than 1.
It had a female lead though!

If you think any Star Wars movie by Disney will actually have Star Wars stuff or good stories think again.

1 is the worst, but 7 is right down there with it. Rogue 1 was better than those at least but Darth Vader carried it.

Yeah gotta give props to a character - voiced by one of those black folks TC, don't forget - carrying a movie by being in all of five minutes of it!

Decided to set a goal of reading at least 12 books in the next year. I used to read all the time and want to get back into it.

Already one down: A Life In Parts by Bryan Cranston. Great read, super interesting to learn about his childhood.

Now onto Star Wars: Catalyst.

Jatz, watching A New Hope tonight for shits and gigs, when Vader chokes out the guy in the conference room after calling him out for his 'sorcerer's ways' Vader responds with "I find your lack of faith disturbing" as he chokes. That's pretty tongue in cheek!

I'm thinking about doing the same thing. Got about 5 sport books for Xmas. Will start with those to get back into it. This football book called the nowhere men is a great insight into the rough lives of football scouts

Catalyst is fantastic! Let me know how you find it reading it after the movie, I read it beforehand and it definitely enhanced my viewing experience.

Yes, I remember the lengthy discussion(s).

Did you get that 4G modem thing I was recommended?

Yeah, after reading Bruce's autobiography, I forgot how much I enjoy reading when it's something that actually appeals to me. Makes the time on the train go twice as quick too.

As mentioned a few days ago, got both Bergkamp and Pirlo's autobiographies, a book on Henry, and The Invincibles, which will tie me over for a while (will only read them on the train to and from work).

Really want to read Cranston's book too, seems like a cracking bloke too.

I think I enjoy books which are factual too. I feel like I'd enjoy true crime books (IE books about the mafia/mob), or ones about major Australian crimes. Things I've definitely been considering reading about.

I have ten years experience living in apartment blocks/buildings. But sorry I don't really know too much about 4G modems. I used one as a stop gap solution a while ago whilst there were some issues with connecting the NBN. It was fine. Basically like using your phone, the 4G speeds were the same.

But as an ongoing solution, I don't know. Depends on your usage of course. I just did basic things with it, no real downloading or streaming (I thrash my work phone hotspot with that, unlimited data).

But it does seem odd that your apartment isn't NBN capable. I thought that was an industry standard now. Perhaps speak with the developer to see if they can do anything.

I've always been more of a fan of autobiographies than fiction I think. Particularly sports. But yeah, Cranston gives the impression of being a truly fantastic person.
Yeah, I couldn't go and pick up a fantasy book and be into it. Just not my thing. I used to read heaps as a kid (under 10 I am talking), then I kinda just great out of it.

After reading Fergie's book earlier this year (and Bruce's as mentioned), like you, I am someone who enjoys autobiographies.

There were some Jose books I was considering getting, but none had good reviews. Thought about Gerrard's too, but was meh about it.

Elaborate in what sense haha, we got naked broadband with Internode, there was already a connection to our apartment, but they were also happy to install a line, so not sure what the issue is for you.
I think that is what they offered us? That 4G modem thing.

It's kinda annoying. Guess we might be able to get something better once the building is complete.

When you say 4G modem do you just mean normal internet? The way you were describing it I thought you meant the 4G wi-fi SIM card they give people who can't get a wired connection.

Well the place is in Essendon - which doesn't have NBN yet, but being a new building, does that change anything?

We will be using it for everything, streaming, downloading etc. So I would want a solid connection. My 4G at home (on phone) is good for the most part, but did the modem ever drop to 3G speeds (which does happen sometimes when I am out etc).
