How did people find 2016 personally? Had a good year myself. Bought a place, celebrated my second anniversary with the missus, saved an absolute shitload to put to our place, while also purchasing a lot for it. Bruce announced a tour, and I got tickets to the four shows I wanted, and I had a great festive period. Pretty solid year.
Mine would be called pretty good.

Got most of my goals done in the year and had more good times

Mine felt same old to be honest. From a personal perspective, still in the same job, same living arrangements etc. Nothing changed - but then I cannot deal with change well at all so it's probably for the best.

No deaths in the immediate family and everything still running smoothly enough I guess.

Well yeah, I stayed in the same job/role (though contract was renewed so I guess that's a bonus). Living arrangements also remained the same too haha - but that will change soon ;)

Bulldogs aside, many other reasons?
I guess apart from that it was pretty regular, but it'll go down as one of my favourite years ever. I guess i also turned 40 so that was something.

My lifes pretty carefree and boring nowadays just family shiz and enjoying the easy life in the bush.

That's probably the difference between our situations - yours is on the move whereas mine is stagnant.

Had a serious gf for the first time in 6 years this year as well. Really liked her but also really struggled with the relationship. My mental illnesses sometimes limit me in certain aspects of life.

It might sound a bit ghastly, but that's more successful to me than anything else in terms of money, jobs, property, possessions etc. All of these can be replaced.

Family and loved ones can not. There's so much tradegy, suffering and death in the world but as long as you have the people close to you and remain with you, there's a sense that everything will be okay.

Treasure that, because anything can happen unfortunately.

Yeah, but I have four years on you.

At 24, I was a casual working at Maccas, preparing for a six week trip to Europe I booked in June, to leave at the end of July.

Sucks about your mental illness, I hope all all works out with it.

2016 was the year I really realised I was getting older and started thinking about time I have a bit more. The year also seemed to go extremely quick to me but that could just be the getting older part.

Had a good year with work in terms of financial rewards but find myself ready for a change regardless, I find it really hard to stick in a job for too long, especially when I think I don't have much further I can go like I do with my current one.

Personally had a few health issues and so did some family members but luckily we're still here come the end. Unfortunately my partner lost a couple of family members to not so nice circumstances which sucked.

My year was a bit average.

Was unemployed for a chunk of it which was tough but I stuck it out and eventually the career change worked as I got out of hospitality and am now enjoying my new job with Flight Centre.

My family are all healthy so that's great.

Less said about my love life the better.

Liverpool traveling well. Decent year.

2017 is gonna be about my health. I have persistent ear, neck and back trouble. Really need to get it sorted. Organising an appointment with an ENT this week about my ear.

2016 was average. Finished undergrad at uni which left me pretty unsure of what to do. Didn't get a scholarship for starting a PhD.

Moved out of home but somehow in the process that resulted in my friendship with who I consider(ed?) my closest friend diminishing slightly, even though we're now housemates and have had no fights or anything like that.

In the sport front, pretty shit year :p Chelsea sucked, Essendon...

I dunno. Not fussed with 2016. Here's hoping 2017 is better.

2016 was fine for me, no real major negatives apart from reoccurring back issues. It's been a strange 18 months sport wise though.

2016 was pretty damn good.

Had my first child in May. Found my first finance job that I've actually enjoyed in August after an absolute horrid run before that. Saving a shit load of money while living with the mother in law. 2017 will either continue on at my job and try and work from Melbourne once a month or if not possible move back to Melbourne.

Sport wise carlton look a lot better under Bolts. Spurs were involved in a title chase for much of the season never thought I'd say that and actually recorded our record points haul in a calendar year.

It's funny how we all look at things differently. I didn't even think to consider mentioning my sporting teams in terms of how my year rates. If Hawthorn won, it would not have changed anything for me, if Arsenal won, I am still not sure I would rank it as a personal highlight of my year.

My sporting teams are a huge part of my life. They give me something to look forward to each week, something to talk about with others.

Same way most people don't think about mentioning going to gigs of performers without #1 hits is worth mentioning ;)

No doubt, but that's exactly my point. We're all different. Gigs would trump sporting highlights for me every time. And while I love sport, music is on a whole different level.

I would agree but there's nothing that's happened that could cause a rift like a fight or anything like that.
Have you brought it up with him?
