Serena is amazing really, the greatest female tennis player with a fantastic record, think she has 21 or so grand slam trophies, that's phenomenal.

Her physique certainly helps though. If we're talking tennis ability, I think Martina Hingis was far better than Serena Williams, but Serena just overpowered everyone.

Used to love Hingis. Whenever anyone plays Serena it's like a battle of David vs Goliath or good vs evil. You always like to see finesse overcome power, but it doesn't usually happen

Hingis was the last real womens tennis player before power arrived. She managed to grab 5 majors before Capriati, Davenport, the Williams sister, Henin, Clijsters and a whole bunch of Easter European women changed the game.

Serena Williams is a great tennis player dont get me wrong, but if you took away her power, she'd lose to Hingis when Hingis was in her prime of course.

Women's tennis though is a big of a joke.

Poor argument. If you take away any athlete's best attribute they'd be substantially worse off. Messi's dribbling, Curry's shooting, Dangerfield's explosiveness, Ronaldo's penalties, etc.

It's like if SM played tennis it would be fairer (for him admittedly) to play with women rather than men because of his very high levels of estrogen

I used to think the same of Navratilova. That's why everyone wanted Chris Evert to beat her because Martina was more like a man. It's fair, but only up to a point.
