Not even close imo. I like Mad Men but as a story, the progression was fairly average. There's only so many ideas they can run with really.
This annoyed me about MM and why I stopped after one season. The pilot seemed to promise some sort of continuing plot about working on the Nixon campaign - which would have woven a political element into the show and given the season a link throughout, but that got completely forgotten about except a few off-hand references I think. I just got bored.

Yeah they flirted with that throughout. There was references to historical events that actually occurred but they never got involved enough to warrant mentioning them at all.

I did get through it all but it certainly wasn't an amazing series to me.

I saw Terminator recently and hated it, think I'd only seen it once or twice before, and watching it again ruined my memory of it, the effects looked terrible to me. T2 has definitely stood the test of time though.
Yes it's one of those films that were ground breaking for it's time, but the effects look poor by today's standards.

Why I still rate the movie is moreso for it's tone. Much more sinister than its sequel. Still remember when I first saw it, was about 8 years old. Watched that and then Predator back to back, both scared the shit outta me.

Yeah for sure the tone is fantastic and it's a very different genre of movie to T2.

Yikes, just watched "University" in The Sopranos (S3E06). Some tough television to watch.
Oh man what an episode. That was like The Sopranos version of the Red Wedding. HBO apparently got a heap of complaints after that episode and people were saying they'd never watch it again.

I loved Ralphie, he was by far my favourite character. The scene when Silvio starts hitting Tracee and Ralphie is just laughing through the window cracks me up every time. I don't know what it says about me but my god it's hilarious.

Ralphie just shits me off for some reason, the guy seems ****** in the head. But yeah that scene was pretty funny.

**** it all this sopranos talk is going to get me finally into it. Struggle is watching more than 3hrs of solid tv a week to commit to getting into more than one series at a time. Currently it's suits. Once this season finishes or the weather gets shit again whatever comes first then I'm on bored with sopranos. By then for sure sm and cruff will be finished no doubt

To be honest I've been going at a rate of maybe 3 episodes a fortnight.

Na it really is incredible. I liked the fact that it didn't rely on action, fantasy etc. it was just a brilliant character study about a man losing his grasp on the control he had in his life and society in an ever changing world.

I didn't see the brilliant character study at all. Each season was basically similar with his drinking out of control/sleeping with whatever floozy was flavour of the month etc. Rinse and repeat. There was obviously a bit more to it than that but not much more imo. I don't even think Don was the best character haha.

It is weird because that's a concept that would quite appeal to me normally but I just didn't think they did enough with it.
