Honestly, the Ice and Fire series... it's meh. I mean, it's ground breaking in its initial approach, but then you get many 'meh' replacements and well, for a 'fantasy' setting, it's all very meh.

It's alright, but the boobs and violence was really a key factor in its popularity.

Gotta disagree, there is far less nudity in recent seasons. The violence isn't gratuitous, and the Battle of the Bastards was far and away the best thing I've ever seen on television in terms of cinematography.

If you do one thing this year, try and read the Song of Fire and Ice series (GOT books). Sensational.

But George RR Martin is a complete campaigner.

The last few books have gotten a bit long-winded though.

Well, have to give credit to the TV series for delivering the material, and deciding to do its own unique thing as well. I guess that means things can be ''fresh'' for those that like to read the series as well. Kinda reminds me of the Suzumiya series a bit in that regard.

I've only recently finished it after a long break between AFFC and Dance and can't begin to imagine the suffering of the fans who've been waiting all these years for the next instalment. Were you reading the books before the show started?

Just watched Trump's speech to the congress. Quite literally one of the greatest speeches I've ever heard. Love him or loathe him, the guy is pure R&R and about the only man capable of making politics exciting. The democrats looked an ugly, divisive bunch. I think Trumps rating will soar he is so pro the average American person. Wants crime out of the cities, jobs back, a strong military that looks after the vets, tough immigration to stop drug crime plus make wages for low earners high. What's not to like? The yanks have been waiting for this guy since Reagan. Hopefully Trumpism (as it will come to be known) will sweep through the western world and free us from globalism and lying politicians and other dark forced that pull the strings to the detriment of us all

lol I started reading the books 12 years ago.

GRRM is on my kill list

You want to take this one SM ? :D

Is politics meant to be exciting?
Yes why shouldn't it be? More people who engage with politics the better as far as I'm concerned. Of course a lot of it will never have mass appeal though but it helps having characters like Trump around

Because these people decide the future of our country/world. They should have to worry about if they are putting on a show for the people playing along at home.

Leave the Jerry Springer crowd be, will ya? They just like watching crazy shit because that's the level of their intellect

If you have natural charisma then it's not a show. For too long we've had to put up with liberal PC politics where the fear of offending anyone has stifled debate and created an environment of untruths and apathy. That's why watching someone like Trump is so invigorating, because there hasn't been someone like him for many years. Trump is a game-changer no mistake

Trumps IQ is 170. Face it mate, you're on the losing side, give it up and try and understand the message instead of being governed by your pre-conceived fears

Anyone a fan of Dune Rats?

Quite a quality little album these guys have put out.
It's fun as ****, but, I dunno, I find very little of substance there.

It's a great party album for when you're having a few beers with mates, but personally I wouldn't put it on in other circumstances. Without trying to be pretentious, I prefer something with a little more depth, I guess.

Are you talking about the show or the novels? I enjoyed the show, but I agree that the nudity, more so than the violence, became a little gratuitous at times. I stopped watching when it caught up to the novels, though, and I'm pleased that I've pretty much been able to avoid major spoilers where it has progressed past the books.

Like Pykie, the man is infuriating. Release The Winds of Winter already!
The last few books have gotten a bit long-winded though.
AFFC was ****ing boring, but I thought it picked back up with ADWD which I found enjoyable. Nothing will ever touch A Storm of Swords though. That novel is a genuine classic and not just of it's genre, but in general.

But I'm used to long-winded novels. For any other fantasy readers on here, I'm currently reading the Wheel of Time and I've just finished the notoriously tedious Crossroad of Twilight. It took me so ****ing long and it tested my patience with the series, but I got through it. I'm about 50 pages into Knife of Dreams which has already renewed my faith along with the few things I've read that suggest that the series is brilliant from here on out.

Yeah, I do agree with that.

It is a fun ****ing album though, which is the go to atm when the kitchen closes and it's time to clean up. Couple of beers and this up loud and the jobs done in no time.

anyone been to Cumulus Inc recently? Is it still really good? In melbs for a few days in mid march and want some decent food. English food is shiiiiiiiiiite.
English food isn't great. But they do multicultural food as good as anywhere other than Melbourne.

Great Turkish, Indian, Korean, Caribbean, Ethiopian/Eritrean etc. restaurants.

Yeah I would expect that in those circumstances it would be a brilliant listen.

Tomic again showing he has a heart the size of a sesame seed. Withdrew claiming "unbearable heat"... it was 27 degrees in Acapulco o.O
