THOUGH I'VE PENNED THESE LINES REMEMBERING A FIENDISH GHASTLY WAR,
I'VE LOOKED BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN, AND THOUGHT “WHATEVER FOR”,
THE FUTILITY OF SUCH A COURSE, SHOULD MAKE OUR GOVERNMENTS PONDER,
FOR ASK YOURSELF, “IS ANYTHING SOLVED”, I LEAVE YOU THEN TO WONDER.
. . .
I didnt understand the last paragraph. Anything solved. Well we're all not speaking German. I think the sacrifices all those soldiers made certainly solved something. War however never goes away. But you still have to win them. And win that one they did.

B-but I thought it was made of cheese?!
You mean Wallace & Gromit lied to me after all these years? Damn you Nick Park!

And the Earth is flat, thought this was confirmed long ago.

I would, but I think there's a law against watching pr0n 16 hours a day.

TBH I know what you're saying but watching a television series can be an escape for a lot of people. Life can get stressful.
Whooooosh

Interesting debate around what era of TV was better.

90's/00's definitely had better sitcoms. Then some of the quality drama shows were outstanding during that time.

There's definitely quality shows on now as well but I sometimes think it's quantity, rather than quality at the moment. There's obvious exceptions (GoT etc) but even though there's more available, I don't know a lot of it reaches the same heights.

Yeah we've had this discussion before, but I think the depth of TV shows now is what makes it a stand out era. I guarantee there are a dozen ongoing shows at the moment I've either never heard of or not yet got around to watching that are high quality shows. Whereas back in the 2000s it was basically network television, of which there was only ever a handful of high quality shows (Lost, Prison Break, House, etc.) and even from that list you can see how it compares to now.

There is absolutely no doubt that with Stan, Hulu, Netflix, HBO, etc. able to produce their own content and allow writers complete creative freedom that the shows being churned out are a lot better. The fact the seasons are only 10-13 episodes also allows for a tighter narrative structure, allows actors to take on more projects, etc.

Also, you get genuine movie stars appearing in shows these days, like Martin Freeman in Sherlock and Fargo, that would have been almost unheard of 15 years ago.

Discussion boards are meant for discussion. Sometimes I post agreeable content other times I don't. I'm not here to massage other people's ego's though
You don't discuss anything though. Stating 'TV shows are boring' isn't a discussion.

Nor is posting the same message every time someone mentions anything to do with TV.

Poking your head in every time this topic comes up just to remind everyone how little you care for the topic isn't discussion though mate. Everyone knows your position on this so all you're doing is derailing the discussion, every time. Surely you can see how people get sick of seeing it?

This is an off topic discussion board and naturally it is going to feature discussions that some posters have absolutely no interest in, when this happens the rest of us usually just ignore it. This thread is unreadable gibberish to me when Cricket is being discussed but interrupting the conversation just to let everyone know how disinterested I am in what they have to say is just rude. It's easier to just not read it.

There's nothing wrong with alternative views WR, it's just that you offer the exact same response anytime TV is mentioned. It's cool, we get it. You don't like TV. I don't think you need to keep reiterating that you don't enjoy it is all. Just scroll by it.

This. I don't particularly like the NBA chat as it doesn't interest me.
First time I've mentioned too. Nat hard really.

Yep, when I see basketball talk, I scroll by it and not post because it doesn't interest me and I have nothing constructive to add. It's not hard to do so.

And to be fair it's not all year round or I'd ask for an NBA thread, it is playoffs so interest is at its highest.
