I do find it funny because you're essentially just buying yourself something if you spend the same amount. I do still like the idea of a sentimental gift. We give each other a book each year and I'm sure that'll continue even if we stop getting other stuff.

Yeah sentimentals fine, but if you each spend $500 or whatever on each other you're just buying yourself something for $500 basically haha. I'd rather a nice sentimental gift where you both aren't out of pocket a bunch.

Paris is a horrible place.

Never understood this view on Paris. Loved it each time I went. Even when we stayed close to not a great area it's so easy to get around and end up somewhere else in the city that's amazing

Love Paris. Spent a day with the kids at Jardin des Tuileries on a trip last year. Was almost the perfect day. Been trying to convince the mrs to go for a job there for a year now. She works for a French company and I'm happy to tag along and be a kept man.
