You can check what your predicted ADSL speed will be on websites like http://www.adsl2exchanges.com.au/ as it typically depends on how far from the phone exchange you are. Whether it is ADSL through a phone company or Naked DSL shouldn't make a difference AFAIK.I've heard bad things depending on the area.

Don't worry about the providers listed (it's just advertising really), the distance from the exchange will determine how good the service is as long as the provider doesn't speed limit you.So elhadjihenry using that website it's saying SpinTel (which looks the best option). Is that saying that they provide good service in the area, or are they literally just listing all of the providers I could get, regardless of quality of connection?
EDIT: Looks like SpinTel are terrible. That link you gave me says that Telstra ADSL 2 is available though which is false.

Yep that should get pretty good speeds on Naked DSL. I'm about 1400m from mine with Internode Naked DSL and I get pretty solid 10mbps (which is enough for HD on Optus Sport on FetchYeah 900m from the exchange so theoretically should be pretty good if I can get a connection with anyone!![]()
)You should have ports avaliable according to http://adsl2exchanges.com.au/. Just go with Telstra bro.
Everyone's saying there are no ports free, Telstra and iSelect both. They're saying our only option is to get an Optus connection using WiFi which doesn't need a phone line.
Do you need a home phone? If not just get Naked DSL and not pay line rental at all. Internode/Iinet are pretty good ISPs
You don't want wireless internet for your home connection. That would suck big time. NBN has put a real kibosh on exchange upgrades. Any timeframe on NBN in your current area?
Really? The guy from iSelect said you can get 12 mbps with it.
It's literally our only option at this stage. But at $80 a month it's not exactly cheap.
Zero chance of NBN at any point in the near future.
Your download allowance will be pitiful. It can be very quick if you get 4G speeds. It's not suitable for your home internet connection though.

If I was you i'd keep trying all ISPs who have ports on your exchange. Soon enough someone will be moving and as soon as you pounce before the new occupants attempt to sign up for ADSL 2+ you'll be able to get in there.
200GB?
12 mbps is about as fast as we were going to get on ADSL 2 with Belong.
Yeah that could be months.
Surely there's people like yourself coming and going from rentals all the time in your area.
200gb ain't too bad. How much PL do you watch though. I chew through about 25gb a week just watching PL through a Fetch mini. That's 100gb gone just on PL (doesn't matter for me with unlimited data).
Yeah hadn't even considered that as a factor.
I mostly watch content during the week on my work laptop, and only watch Hull on the Fetch mini (watch the rest on my laptop which I could again use my work laptop for) so might be ok.
Fetch mini sucks shitloads of data down compared to watching PL through the website.
Also Optus claim Fetch mini won't work with a wireless connection but how would the device know if you're connected to a wifi hotspot?
Worst case I'd just watch all EPL on my work laptop. Dunno if they monitor my data usage, but could deal with that if/when.
