Thought Rogue One was great. Takes a bit of concentration at the start to pick up whats happening and all, but the film flows well.

The ending just makes you want to watch A New Hope, so good.

Because it's impossible to have a strong woman without having ulterior motives. Every movie needs to have strong white men to ensure they aren't under-represented in cinema.

What hidden agendas? Saying that the series serves as an allegory for ww2 isn't a "hidden agenda" it's a pretty ****ing obvious agenda.

It's up to the viewer to make any comparisons with similarities or events either past or present. As soon as the writers start dictating their own PC credentials then they invite debate. It used to be a good old fashioned sci-fi space fantasy - not some vehicle to promote diversity, feminism as it is now.

Ah! OK, in that case, yeah, that's bad writing. You've got to get the balance just right, I mean, start of the season, got to set up some tone, and slowly introduce some character development and arcs.

I have only loosely perused it, but it seems odd.

Who cares if it's stereotypical, or if women are good or bad in films. It's a movie FFS, just enjoy it for what it is.

That's the whole point - you can't enjoy it as much when they are pushing some lame political agenda. The original trilogy didn't have that, one of the reasons it was far more enjoyable
