Couldnt they just literally shoot the Genie scenes shot for shot. Then just dub in Williams original stuff over the top of a new CGI Genie?

Also I heard there was a shit ton of material not used in the original film. Like they would just let Robin Williams go in the booth and then just picked and chose what to use. Im sure there is hours of stuff unused from that epic performance, so that could be used to even liven it up or have the Genie in different scenes if it's rewritten a little.

Not only as mentioned by Cooldude, but one can't just purely rely on Robin William's version of the genie just to make an Aladdin film. I'd say give another extremely talented guy a shot to make the Genie work, and who knows?

Yeah Andy Lau was just supposed eye candy, Chow did everything. His gambling scenes were bloody hilarious though

There are dozens of 90s Chow movies, there are some others where he is either an undercover cop or there's a piss take of him being 007 (that one's legendary, you should get onto that). There are ones where he's in ancient chinese settings where he was ******* great as well.

Chow Yun Fat never got onto the gamblers series for like 20 odd years until recently with Vegas to Macau, it is also the series that basically made him famous. There were TV dramas of those as well and when Chow and Fat used to do TV when they started out they killed it there. That's why they flirted with him appearing in 2 because that's all they can do, he wasn't gonna do them

90s Chow movies are the best thing, you should binge them all, they're all on youtube. It's a great testament to those movies that even if you don't understand Cantonese they're still funny, the Cantonese jokes are ******* mindbendingly amazing
I just saw both All For The Winner and God of Gambling III, not kidding there. That ending for the 1st one, ROFL (It also made more sense in the 2nd one where Lau and Chow were facing off). I made some good connections from the 1st one to the 2nd one, including the Beautiful Dream reference (which is Wet Dream in litreal Cantonese if I'm not mistaken.) Oh god, that armpit scene, lol. Found it interesting that Chow ended up representing Taiwan, and had a competition with an 'Aussie' on his way to the final.

3rd one was quite weird, felt a bit 'Turtles in Time,' but was still pretty good (all part of Mo lei tau), athough I'll admit it was the weakest out of the three. It did have a twist I wasn't expecting at all. I had to see the scene against just to confirm what I saw. I got the first twist down, but the 2nd one was like... no way.) The gambling scene at the end was good, and I was wondering if that 'element' was going to come into play, and was frankly surprised that it didn't come sooner.

Glad you mentioned it, because I found it, From Beijing with Love, and holy crap. I'd say that's probably one of the best Bond Parodies I've seen, if not the best. That living room scene (the first meeting with the girl)... that actually floored me. I had to stop the video. It was that fantastic. Both Chow and the actress just nailed that scene absolutely perfectly, I think you can see why the girls he picks do go on to have pretty good careers, but that scene was mint. The comedy was just top notch all around, and was just a lot of fun. I do recommend anyone that is into James Bond to give it a viewing, because it actually did things before a certain other series. There's another I want to try ,'Justice, My Foot.' But I can't seem to find a good quality English one without having to fork out.

Still deciding if I should do Fight Back to School or Chinese Odyssey... I think Chinese Odessey will prep me better for his version of Journey to the West. Which undercover cop one should I try first?

It also surprised me with how many films he had coming in the span of 6-7 years, he was certainly busy!

Yeah, he did God of Gambling returns, and then something like 20 years to the new series. Still weird how both of them have never appeared on screen at the same time, and disappointing.

I have indeed been on a bit of a binge, some seriously good stuff there. Hong Kong 90s stuff is just awesome, it's just too bad that ever since 1997, it just has gone downhill, and has never quite felt the same again.

What brand? If it's MK she will love you forever and beyond.
Fossil. She was gushing over it when browsing a while back but thought it too expensive to get.

Oh, so it's a surprise?
Yep, she doesn't even know I was paying attention while browsing. I'll keep the receipt though in case she prefers a different one. Women.

Bust up with the coach, few rumours he is seeking a trade.
he jumped on a flight to Chicago. Maybe he was trying to trade himself haha. The Bulls already have a washed up PG in Rondo and Rose seemed so relieved to get out of Chicago.

He's another player whose career was ruined by injury/past his prime but still thinks he's a superstar.

Excellent work, will score you huge brownie points. Pop a ring in there and you're set ;)

I got criticised for proposing after living with my missus for 2 years haha.

Are you engaged yet mate?
Oh really? How long were you dating all up?

2 years and 4 months.

We started dating and i had to move to sydney after 3 months for work. Gave her the option to come with me and she said yes. I was in Sydney for 2 years. I proposed after being back in melbs for about a month.

The Firing Squad scene is the best for me, it's so iconic. The reverse shooting gun thing was bloody hilarious as well. That movie just nails everything

I'd definitely watch Royal Tramp, Chinese Odessy, Hail the Judge, Tricky Brains and Justice my foot, those were all absolutely excellent and amongst his best work. Fight back to school was okay. The God of Cookery was alright, too

Yeah they milked him for all its worth back then, he had like a couple of movies every year which was an insane schedule. His catalogue is very deep and would measure up with any person probably

I think with 97 and returning to China it kinda put a halt on things, a lot of Chow's old comedy was making fun of Chinese culture a bit and it wouldn't have gone down too well. He has changed that since

Fair enough, we've been dating two and a half years already but like I said, popping the question is probably six months away. We've talked about buggering off to Europe to do it on the cheap, but she didn't take me seriously when I suggested the City of Culture..

Going to propose this year, around May or June. (see below for further explanation)

That's what she wants but that's not coming for a little while.

Mine keeps asking and I keep telling her July 14 (random date I said months ago). A few months back she said I can't do it then because it's three days before her sister's 21st, so if I don't do it before then I'm ****ed haha.

I joked I'd do it at her bday in a few weeks after giving a speech in front of our friends then realised that was a good idea and I'd ruined it lol.

Congratulations mate, it's all happening for you.

Perhaps if Arsenal win the league you propose the day it happens :)
