Thanks mate. :thumbsu:

My old man has about 300. What's your most prized?

I have a signed Born To Run in frame. Definitely the favourite thing I own.

I can't get into Ed. A-Team was good, and while he is talented, he's just a bit blah. I personally think he doesn't know what he wants to be, so just tries and meshes all different music together.

Bit blah? He's like the opposite mate, so different to the generic sound going at the moment. Think he has a pretty clear idea of his sound.

Ed Sheeran is vanilla. All his new album seems to have been uploaded on YT and I've been giving some tracks a listen. His music isn't bad, but neither is it good. When was the last time you caught yourself humming or singing a Sheeran tune to yourself? Probably never, because his songs are not melodic enough

Maybe a poor choice of words, but I just cannot get into him. If he wrote solid acoustic music, he'd be great. But as I said, for me, he tries to do too much.

Half his stuff is acoustic lol. But fair enough.

Do you still love me is fantastic, haven't had a chance to listen to the rest in all honesty.

Think WealstoneRaider might like this guy if he hasn't heard of him.
His last album was a masterpiece for me. This one feels a bit more restrained in terms of the memorable choruses in his self-titled but he just has a knack of writing top notch songs that are full of emotion.

Castle on the hill is decent though. His other one is horrid.

Shape of You makes me wanna commit mass murder, it's just him selling out to the current trend of shitty flat no melody "dance tracks" in the top 40

Top 40 has always been shit but it might be the shittest it's ever been

Agreed, this is much more back to his roots. A lot of soul and emotion through it.

Weird comment.

To be fair, I agree with him. Most of the top 40 music these days is generic EDM beats that pop stars or "rock bands" use.

Oh sorry, I meant that "Shape of You" signifies that Ed has sold out. When I love the song and don't see it as markedly different from, say, Sing, or Drunk.

Really digging the new Ryan Adams.

Can definitely hear Bruce's influence in quite a few tracks - Anything I Say To You Now, Outbound Train, and Shiver and Shake. The latter is very Nebraska-esque, though reminds of I'm On Fire.

Prisoner is ****ing fantastic.

Do You Still Love Me is all sorts of ****ing good.

Love Outbound Train, too.

Ed is fantastic in concert. I like most of his stuff, but agree Shape of you is terrible. Havent listened to the new album yet

Ah right! Misinterpreted. Yeah I don't think it's remarkably different from other things he's done. To be honest, I only know a lot of his stuff because my mate plays them on guitar and before he tells me it's add Sheeran, I always think the tunes sound good prior.

I actually thought it had a Springsteenish sound too. Glad you enjoy it! His cover of Wonderwall is still the best cover I've ever heard too. Noel Gallagher liked it so much better he plays it that way at gigs now.

Yep, very good, need to obtain this album online ;)

Now I just need to convince the mrs to let me get tickets to his show.

Not confident.

I don't like Ed but shape of you is one of my favourite tunes atm
