I've actually never read the novels. How many are there?
Can't remember off the top of my head, I'd guess 10-12. But they're all very short so pretty easy to smash through. Think I read them all in school.

They're less all action and more reasoned and articulate but still great reads.

Are they chronological?

No.

I asked the movie why Batista's character (whose name was neer mentioned?) was mugged off so easily.

The movie didn't respond.

Dear Die Hard,

You rock!

Yep. Think there's a vague plot, though it's been years since I read them. Think the Blofeld/SPECTRE plot progresses through the books but they're by and large stand alones. Several are pretty close to the movies based on them, but some are entirely different.

They were a fun read on the train to school back in the day, from memory maybe each book was 200 pages?

EDIT: Ha, there are 12 books. No idea why my brain retains that. And looks like they're all roughly 200-250 pages.

I'll have to check if they're on the iTunes store!

About halfway through the Book Thief. Gee that's a sad book!

I read that last year, the second half doesn't get any easier lol.

But yeah check out Casino Royale (the first book ironically) and see if you like it, I found them pretty good reads. It's not like comic books or anything where it adds to your appreciation of the films or anything, since the movies are such loose adaptations, but in some ways that makes them more interesting to read.

He is a poor mans Bruce Wayne with less fun villains
I have no idea how a comparison between those two can even be made haha.

Surely the only decent comparison to another franchise is the US rip off Jason Bourne..

Both are rich, well dressed men who do well with females and are always going to win the fight. Know the ending of both just feel that at least Batman is comic based with its villains that I know will eventually lose.

Huh, Bond isn't rich, he's essentially a civil servant.

One is a vigilante who dresses up in a costume and attacks people at night, the other is a spy who works for the government.

Is Bond that rich though? Sure, is always well dressed and designer fashion etc. The cars are usually his employers though. You'd imagine his wages are huge, but not like multi billionaire type wealth that Bruce Wayne has.

Not sure about that, Bournes like the anti-Bond.

The franchise is basically America's attempt to emulate the success of Bond though. Both are secret agent style men who thwart big criminal organisations. (I actually haven't seen any of the Bourne movies)

Batman loosely works for the police too

It's more the point of knowing the ending before watching the movie that I can't get into. Batman is the same but at least has out there comic based villains which is mainly what I go to see. Funny you mention Bourne being the rip off. That's another movie series I'll never bother with

You could say the same of any action movie though lol.

The first 3 Bournes are very good IMO and are nothing like a Bond movie. You should check them out.
