Hanson goes bang...

“I believe there are some that want to live a good life and a quiet life,” she said. “But you tell me — you line up a number of Muslims, who’s the good one?”

Also, saw Logan last night.

Not going to lie, didn't actually love it. Am sad that's it for HJ in Wolverine though. One of the more perfect cast roles in my lifetime.

So a few things that seemed a bit odd to me (which could just be I don't know the universe as well as I could):

Why did getting over the Canada border all of a sudden mean the kids were safe? The bad guys chased them into Mexico, why would they not chase them into Canada?

What was the terrible thing Charles did in West Chester?

Who was the albino guy and has he been referenced before?

The movie just really felt like a really long goodbye. I didn't know any spoilers going in but the plot was pretty obvious throughout. Only thing I didn't really see coming was when Charles died.

Yep it never explained the border crossing particularly well. But in the X-Men universe, there's a group of Canadian mutants known as Alpha Flight or X Flight that are protectors of 'Eden', or something like that.

They have some sort of tie to the Canadian government hence the US troops wouldn't cross over and fight them, it'd be some sort of international incident. However, none of this was in the film and we didn't even know who that rictor guy was talking to on the phone. Can only presume who it was. Very vague.

Charles killed the other X-Men. About 70 of them were killed when he had one of those epic seizures like you saw at the casino. This was mentioned briefly in the radio news update before Logan turned it off. Was hard to hear it all the first time.

The albino is Caliban. Very prominent in the comics but hardly seen in the movie except for X-Men Apocalypse which was terrible. He's a tracker of mutants. Somehow survived the Westchester incident. A shame he didn't battle though, I was expecting him to kick some ass but they way he went down was pretty bad ass.

Hope that helps somewhat.

Yeah but with most movies there isn't 20-odd of iterations of it

No there's just 100 plus iterations of that plot. It's called every movie written haha.

Surprising, I loved it.

There's no confirmation they actually will be safe, Logan spends half the movie telling X-23 that it's all bullshit, and it's left unclear presumably to that end. As Glen has cleared up there's presumably context in the comics though.

That was explained on the radio when he was involved in the seizure at the Casino as well as I think Logan referencing it a bit. Didn't realise it was the other mutants, but seemed clear he'd killed a lot of people.

I didn't think it was obvious at all but maybe I just figured they wouldn't actually kill them off.

Not with the same main character every single time.

I dont mind good vs evil. But when it's some bloke named James 20+ times it's boring as ****. Not going to waste 2 hrs waiting for him to beat the bad guy. At least with every other action movie the characters and plot are somewhat different each time. Bond is an international spy with fast cars & a nice suit against an international bad guy every single time.

Sorry I didn't spoiler tag the last sentence. I've possibly given away what happens in the next 150 Bond movies ever made!

Still not entirely sure what your complaint is. Do you seriously go into action movies hoping that the bad guys win for once?

No. I go into them to see how the movie & characters develop and to enjoy the few little twists along the way. With Bond I definitely already know how the character will act & I get the sense the narrative differs very little from movie to movie so there's no massive plot twists along the way.

The character acts different based on the actor playing him and has evolved over the 50 years the movies have been coming out. Not worth discussing since you seem to hate Bond for whatever reason, but your criticism seems a bit weird.

Has he really changed his persona that much from actor to actor? Or is he still a suit wearing, British international agent? Just bores me knowing how a movie will exactly go going into it.

It's the same with sport and not watching it live. Just can't be bothered with it when I know the outcome. Batman is probably the only movie I watch where I know exactly how the plot will flow, but even that in the last few has thrown up some curve balls.

I'm surprised you've watched all 23 films if you hate them so much.

I haven't. Got better things to do with 50 odd hours of my life than watch James Bond drive fast cars and beat an international villain in a 2 hour struggle each time

Then I'm surprised you feel comfortable discussing his character changes over the 23 films. All good, enjoy the next 'original' action movie you watch then. :D

Cool, thanks for that. I thought it must be something like that RE: the Alpha Flight group. But yeah, terrible job of actually explaining that.

I wouldn't mind rewatching this with subtitles - there was quite a few conversations that I didn't entirely catch throughout.

Very helpful, certainly clears up some of the problems I had with the film.

I can understand why people would have loved it. I just thought there was a few too many plot 'issues'.

I thought that moment turned when they realised Eden was real. Kind of felt like once that occurred, they'd definitely be safe if they got across the border. Btw, they should have just built Eden across the border in the first place haha.

I was surprised when Charles died but not that he died. I also thought they'd kill off Wolverine as soon as they made it clear he was sick on the inside.

I thought the point was to be deliberately vague. After all Logan spends most of the movie rubbishing the concept.

Beats her talking about vaccines or how much she loves Putin

Russians killed a dozen odd Aussies when they shot down MH17, if Pauline loves Putin then she's a traitor

Because people love John Howard

If you're gonna troll, don't troll about this, this is serious, it makes you look like a campaigner. Go troll City or someone else like you usually do

i blame the trailers for not portraying him to be anything different to the same old thing for the past 20 years

you come across as very ignorant

Nice try, straight to the keeper

You support Pauline Hanson, trolling or real it shows you're the ignorant one

General rule of thumb: if internet trolls like a particular politician, that politician is probably scum
