Not a big Pink Floyd fan, what's the movie like?
It's a pretty deep film, based around a rock star who builds a metaphorical wall around himself due to a number of life events that happen to him. It's done surreally and some of it is open to interpretation I guess. Very good - probably helps if you like PF's music but it's not necessary.

isn't that the same as his xmen character? I'll probably see it at some point

This is his X-man character, Logan is Wolverine. This is set in the future when they're basically all dead except him and Xavier (Patrick Stewart). There's a lot of buzz that it could get an Oscar Nom and don't think that'd be undeserved, it's a fantastic movie.

I'll add it to the list then, cheers.

Didn't patrick stewart die ages ago? that chick tears him apart with her mind i thought.

worth a look even for non xmen fans?

No idea haha I didn't really like that trilogy.

Yeah worth it because it doesn't really tie to any of the others, it's its own thing.

Cool, thanks for that. I thought it must be something like that RE: the Alpha Flight group. But yeah, terrible job of actually explaining that.

I wouldn't mind rewatching this with subtitles - there was quite a few conversations that I didn't entirely catch throughout.

Very helpful, certainly clears up some of the problems I had with the film.

Subtitles yes would have been handy at times, difficult to pick up on little bits and pieces. Like when Charles was about to be stabbed, he was opening right up about it.

But the real information came out via the radio scene in the car. The second viewing definitely helped clear this up for me. Plus reading about it on the comic book websites I follow.

The 'villain' was a surprise though. That was nicely done. And I thought the young girl did great as X-23, she was genuinely frightening at times. Got a children of the damned vibe from her a few times.

That first battle at their desert hideout was brilliant. Didn't have any explosions or any of that over the top stuff that these movies are jammed with now, it was just brutal combat. Loved it.

Yes he died in the third one. But death doesn't really mean much in comic books, there's always a way to come back. Like the post credits scene from that movie, where he transferred his mind into his twin brother's body....bingo.

And yes definitely worth a look. It does not feel attached to any of the other films. Genuinely feels like a standalone. And I wouldn't even say it's a superhero film, it transcends that genre too. Just a high quality action/thriller film.

Patrick Stewart casually and regularly drops f bombs in this, I mean that's gotta be good right?

Logan was a great movie in general and one of the best superhero movies ever.

However there is still going to be far too many superhero movies coming out.'
Absolutely. I'm over the genre in general, but Logan was great.

bok_party Ryan Adams album is ******* awesome. Haunted House is outrageously good.
Yeah I'm really enjoying it too. My favourite is Shiver and Shake.

Most of it is about his breakup with Mandy Moore so the autobiographical nature of it makes it more interesting and heartbreaking too.
