Will take that as a compliment, I think :D

I’ve seen only snippets from Gotham and the other shows, I’ve perhaps misread it though as a bit too ‘kid friendly’ (albeit from a very small sample size, I’m likely wrong here).

If you do like the early Gotham/pre Batman setting, there’s an excellent comic known as ‘Year One’. I’ve probably banged on about it before so you’ve likely already read it, but I take that as the definitive setting of Gotham just as Gordon/Bruce were finding their way.
I watch very little TV, but I do like the DCTV series. I haven’t started on Gotham yet, but my wife is completely up to date, and it’s her favorite of the lot.

DC hands down for me Jod. No contest. The villains are just next level, having said I have Magneto in my top 5 characters overall, if there’s such a thing.

I don’t disagree with what else you said. Pretty easy to see where things have gone wrong.

Batman however is consistent with the comics. He does know when he’s out of his depth, and takes a step back. He finds other ways to contribute, aside from the tech and money he brings the League. I can see why you found it an issue but for me it was fine.
The issue I’ve always had with Marvel, and it’s DC’s strength, is that Marvel is consistently too inconsistent. Whole universes jump around. Irrelevant of the storyline, you always know what a particular DC hero stands for. Even after the 51 reboot, that didn’t change.

When the new Thor comic series came out a while back, I thought I’d give it a go, as Thor is my second favour it’s hero, behind Superman. Even as a brand new storyline, there were immediately issues with the consistency of the storyline.

Gotham is a funny one for me. I felt the first two seasons were largely meh but I wanted to stick with it. Good decision as I’ve found Season 3 and 4 to be much better.

Should a fireman be a fireperson now? Policeman Policeperson? Just call a man a person? A woman a woperson?

Would any of those stop violence against women? It's a serious issue but feel like this isn't quite the solution...

God. What will they think of next?

At this point journalists can and will come up with the dumbest logic to put to print.

This one will be worth seeing I think.
I am sure it will be. For me personally, I like the series, watched all 7 filmed but I got into the series very late (first time 2-3 years back) and I am not a fanatic that I HAVE to watch it the moment it comes out. I’ll probably be talked into watching it this month by my brother but if that doesn’t happen I have no really issue with waiting a few months.
