If a Muslim specifically blows up a building with white people, is it terrorism or a hate crime?

If a white person specifically targets homosexuals, is it terrorism or a hate crime?

It's still based on skirmishes right now but there probably will be a government and also population rejection of Islam pretty soon and immigration policies will follow suit. Trump's trying to do it but he left out all the countries that are actually sending terrorists because those countries have business deals with him

The thing is Isalm is still growing pretty steadily as a religion all over the world, eventually they'll be bigger than Christianity going by current trend and that will magnify a lot of the problems

Religion's just bad

It can be both. It may/may not be hate crime and may/may not be terrorism depending on a lot of factors that your post didn't specify. The answer can also vary from one country to another.

You said:

"Terrorism by definition is carrying out an action designed to incite terror."

You never mentioned motivation or it being an unlawful act, hence under your definition the haka is considered terrorism.

There is actually no universal consensus in regards to the definition of terrorism because it's impossible to untangle the overlaps within each defining principle. Covering all aspects included in the definition is a problem the international community struggle with and it is far too broad an exercise for the scope of my post, but here you are thinking you're able sum it up in twelve words. Forgive me if I think you're oversimplifying things.
Perhaps that's where the difference in our perceptions came from, I thought it was inherently obvious that terrorism would involve illegal activity.

Everything will come to a head eventually, Islam vs the rest. Can't see any way around it
Shame as there's a Muslim family next door to us. Nicer people you could not find.

As always the sins of a few ruin it for everyone. Most Islamic people are harmless yet for many that's not the perception.

Bloody hell our justice system is ******. In the paper today... A Comanchero bikie awaiting trial has just had his remand from March turned into bail.

Reason: his QC argued if he stayed in prison he'd have a "breakdown". FFS prison isn't meant to be a picnic but cry about it and they'll let you out. Says he's "charged with more than 30 offences, including making threats to kill, conspiring with others to commit arson, drug trafficking, and possession of an unregistered handgun"

I feel like ringing my local MP over it. This shit has to got to change.

Baffles me how people get bail or parole.

Wonder what the % of reoffenders is for people let out. Any more than 1% is too much!

Because no doubt it would have been done in the name of ISIS had the perpetrator been a Muslim. I ask again, whose name would this be in had it been committed by a white Christian and what history do they have of terror related incidents?
You say had like you already know it wasn't a muslim, how do u know that? They kill more Muslims than anyone else does. It was most likely a Muslim, buddy.

The world isn't in a great state at the moment.

Hate crime, terrorism, whatever you want to call it, all the same ******* thing to me, driving a van into a crowd of people, Muslim, black or white people, you've got to be a sick bastard to do something like that.

I'm genuinely ******* sick of this shit happening, makes me angry.

Which is exactly what ISIS wants. Idiots like the perpetrator in this case are helping their cause.
The idiotic thing for the people demanding all these attacks being branded as radical Islam is that they don't know that's exactly what ISIS wants

Now there are anti-Muslim attacks appearing it's just gonna get worse and worse

Generally listen to the indie-rock sort of scene, realised the other day I haven't heard a good new album in yonks.
I doubt we'll have the same tastes but I've loved new albums from The Smith Street Band, Cloud Nothings, Polish Club, Bad--Dreems, Dune Rats, Skegss, Rise Against and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard so far this year.

Looking Forward to Arcade Fire, Royal Blood(just started listening to it), The Creases, Wolf Alice, Nothing But Thieves and Queens Of The Stone Age's new stuff too

By all accounts it's not a Muslim.

But yeah I understand your points, Jihadists don't discriminate who they take out by and large, the more deaths the better as far as they are concerned. Three jihadi attacks in three months plus a further five foiled then you massively increase the chances of this "reprise" attack last night. Typically the Government have now officially declared this a terrorist attack - because obviously if they don't the muslims will be even more enraged than they already are. We now live in a world where we have to call out blatant untruths to appease and stop everything from completely going tits up.
