Has anyone ever done a family holiday to Europe? Or even just as a couple?
If so how long did you go for, where’d you go etc.

I’m trying to get a rough idea of how much it would cost but it’s just an absolute minefield and I have no idea where to start.

I did 3 months with my girlfriend a few years ago and spent roughly $30k. Went to London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Croatia, Spain, Italy, Greece, Prague and France. My mate did a similar trip and spent $15k. Depends on your lifestyle I suppose lol.

Went over for a bit over two weeks for honeymoon recently, we spent about 5-6 days in Italy, 3 days in Spain and a week in England. It felt very rushed though, but we were constrained by school holidays as my wife's a teacher.

Cost I'd guesstimate all up was maybe $15k.

I’ve got 10 weeks of Annual Leave to use and they are going to make me use it. Been looking at Japan in August as it’s cheap but also contemplating a South American trip. I’ll be going alone though so shouldn’t be too bad. Anyone done either or? May even check out Taiwan, Vietnam etc if I go to Japan too.

As you say it’s a minefield, depends where you want to go & what you’re willing to spend basically. Went for about 2 months for our honeymoon last year, some places a lot more expensive than others.

Started in Iceland which was amazing, but everything is expensive due to location obviously. Then Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Ibiza, Venice, Rome, Vienna, Munich, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague then Dubai before home.

We got a bus from Vienna to Munich & Berlin to Prague to save money, just meant it took longer but could justify what we saved. Train from Munich to Amsterdam & then back to Berlin as it was the easiest option too. We also used a train across Italy with a few line changes as it was far cheaper than flying or trying to drive it.

Portugal is cheaper than Spain, Czech Republic quite cheap as well. Planning to go to those places for longer next time to make the money go further. Tourist traps obviously a lot more expensive & somewhat not worth the trip these days

I loved Japan but bloody hell it is humid in July / August. You'll be sweating all the time.

Who here is an Apple user (phone) and any Samsung (or any other Android)? Anyone ever made the switch to or from one to the other?

Android, always been the better operating system and I love it. It takes maybe 2 days to adapt to a new system so change really isn't a big deal.

Apple, have the iPhone, a MacBook Pro and an Apple Watch so for me it would be silly to switch.

That's how they get you.

Then when they charge you hundreds of dollars for a power cord you're stuck.

Was apple for years before making the switch to Sony and eventually Samsung. If you're just after a phone and don't really care about features iPhone is probably the best. Simple design, no extra bullshit and pretty well locked down.

If you want a bit more freedom (installing apps outside of the store, other system related stuff you cant do on iOS without jailbreaking) with the phone the Samsung is the way to go.

Or $1000 for a monitor stand to support your $5000 monitor.

Is it true you can play Kayo from your Samsung phone onto a Samsung smart TV?

Why wouldn't it be? But you can also play Kayo through your Apple TV..

You could probably play it from your iPhone to a Samsung TV. Thats not really a limitation of the OS, more of the app itself and how it allows to be viewed (Chromecast, smart view, etc)
