Pretty sure that the UK will send vaccines to all commonwealth countries once the UK population has been fully vaccinated. Boris talked about it a few months ago. I'd imagine that the US will do the same to its allies once they are done.

Last week saw record vaccinations on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Not sure about the rest of the week.

After one vaccination you are looking at 60+ percent coverage so most are happy with that tbh as the chance of death is very low after one vaccine and pretty much sea after two.

There was a slowdown about a month ago but that was a European thing due to France and Germany telling their populations the vaccines didn't work, Italy not shipping vaccines to Australia, UK then shipping vaccines to Australia as a result and the EU threatening to not send 2nd doses of Pfizer to the UK.

That shitfight seems to have been resolved for the time being with the UK ordering vaccines from non-EU countries and increasing domestic production of Astra Zeneca.

Everyone in a high risk category has been offered the vaccine and was done so months ago. I think the world is going to have to recognise that there is a difference between getting covid and feeling unwell for a week and dying from it. We can live with the former.

Huh? You bought stuff all Pfizer in comparison to AZ. That's why there is a lack of supply at times.

A big part of the problem has been access to supplies. Australia's programme is most reliant on the AstraZeneca shot, though Pfizer and Novavax will also be a part of its larger rollout.

What's gone wrong with Australia's vaccine rollout?

The country has been far slower than others including the UK and the US to immunise its population.

It has, and there are glaring weaknesses with federal protocols relating to moving from site to site. They are not to be absolved of all blame
Hard to believe that aged care is being mishandled all over the country yet it has only really stung in Victoria. Sounds like there's an underlying reason.

That's more the point really. Why has 800 died in Vic yet not many everywhere else. if aged care was so poor it'd have surely happened everywhere else.
Contact tracing is still lagging behind the country.
