Oh I like dogs, don't get me wrong. What's the issue with that? Dogs are great. Also a bit harsh on your wife there lol.
Hahaha a bit different mateAnd yet you want kids..

It's 100% true though lol. She'll be all over it for a week and then it will be my responsibility to walk it, feed it, clean up after it etc.
Hahaha a bit different mate
Heard so many stories of people not wanting a dog. The mrs gets it and then the husband is the one hanging out with it all the time.and then you'll become best friends and love it.
Just do it.
Yes but raising a child would be much more rewarding than having a pet IMO (not saying there is anything wrong with pets).Yeah kids are much, much worse.
Until they become teenagers......Yes but raising a child would be much more rewarding than having a pet IMO (not saying there is anything wrong with pets).

Yep, had a dog. Thought she was great.Haha again I dunno about that. Did you ever have a pet growing up?
Yep, had a dog. Thought she was great.
But there is nothing more I want than to be a dad (being a rockstar not counted in this discussion).
Boarding school. Problem solved.Until they become teenagers......
Oh, I know that. But I currently want children more than a dog. It's not an either or, you're allowed to have both.
Can imagine a couple driving past the Cruyff household.Oh, I know that. But I currently want children more than a dog.
I reckon get a dog when your kids are old enough to appreciate and take responsibility for it. Seen it a few times when pets have come first and children barely acknowledge their existence.Yep, had a dog. Thought she was great.

Shut up Catman. Can imagine a couple driving past the Cruyff household.
Passenger: 'Geez, those garden gnomes look great'
Driver: 'I think they're the children, Darl'.

Yes, that's something we have considered.I reckon get a dog when your kids are old enough to appreciate and take responsibility for it. Seen it a few times when pets have come first and children barely acknowledge their existence.
Japanese are a very different culture thoughThe solution is encouraging more people to have children at a younger age. That's exactly what Japan is doing right now. How exactly that is done I'm not sure but if the typical Aussie family is a coupe in their mid 30s with 1 or 2 kids max we'll be in trouble in 30 to 40 years time for sure.
I suggest reading up on the troubles they hare having in Japan atm due to low birth rates and a focus on career over family.
This, totally irresponsible, first and foremost financially, but secondly the likelihood of family/marital problems stemming from financial hardshipWhy encourage people to have kids younger when they can't even afford to buy a house to live in with said kids?
YeahThis as well.
As it currently stands society does not encourage people to have children younger and anything which might go a way to correct those would be met with significant backlash.
LolI did all 3 things between age 28 and 30 lol was a stressful time.
We bought our first place in 2016 (Mrs was only 22), I proposed in 2017, got married 2019 and bought our land in 2019 too.
Nice mate, hopefully you guys make some breakthroughs on the IVF. Took my exs sister about 2 years for a breakthrough there, it may unfortunately be a long haul, so don't lose the faith it it doesn't happen quickly. There's six years between us, but yeah still very good for someone of her age to achieve what she has.
Thanks, we were trying naturally but to no avail. Sorting out IVF stuff at the moment.
Once the 25km radius goes and we can visit households again that's when I consider lockdown overOctober 26 lockdown ends but we are limited to 25k travel radius. Hospo reopens in limited numbers etc. Mid November I believe is when we hit 80% full vaccination and restrictions end.
Yeah kinda would have to weigh it up against getting a loan from a bank. I guess that government scenario would be if you had a huge deposit down already.Correct me if I’m wrong here. So if you buy a house for $1m, the government will lend you $250k. If it appreciates by 50% and you sell it for $1.5m, then you have to pay the government back $375k (25% of $1.5m). So of your $500k capital growth, you only get to pocket $125k, and a chunk of that will go towards stamp duty for your next property anyway.
Sounds shithouse tbh.
You bastard.
Lel thisCruffy is definitely a cat man
My 1 year old daughter and 8 year old lab are best friends. Maybe it depends on the pet and the breed. My poor dog absolutely cops it but is so gentle with her.I reckon get a dog when your kids are old enough to appreciate and take responsibility for it. wait till you are changing runny mustard nappies mate!Maybe one day when we have children. Also not a fan of picking up its sh*t lol.
There is no doubt that my dog is now overprotective of my daughter. Always walks between the pram and other people and occasionally barks at them for no reason which is really out of character.Nice mate
Probably regards her as a little sister, have seen plenty of videos on YouTube from channels like The Dodo where they'll show footage of dogs looking after, if not protecting infants/toddlers of their owners etc
My brothers oldest dog just turned 7, he's a great energetic happy dog, but a jealous bugger though. Brother has 2 kids, born start of 2017 and mid 2019, so I observed last year in between lockdowns when I visited them, the dog was sitting on the couch with me, my niece who was 3 at the time jumped up with us and tried patting the dog, dog started shrugging her off and flinching away from her every time she tried patting him, though whenever I or whoever else pats him, he loves it, then wants to play fetch after a minute or 2.
He'd never harm them, but he cold shoulders them alot, have seen a few photos of him with the kids since and he'd stand next to them, but look away everytime they'd pat him. Perhaps he'll warm up to them in his old age once they play fetch with him more or something. Brothers other dog is a bit over 4 and a half, same breed, she's about 6-7 weeks younger than my niece so has grown up alongside my niece, absolutely loves the kids but.

When I get home with my daughter from nursery, my daughter hugs my wife and then demands to be put down so she can crawl over to the dogs bed. She hasn't learnt to stroke the dog yet so she proceeds to hit the dog on the head and body with an open palm and then pull her ears. The dog in turn licks my daughter all over until my wife shouts at the dog hahaha. It's all very cute.
That's what happened to meBoarding school. Problem solved.
Labs are the best.My 1 year old daughter and 8 year old lab are best friends. Maybe it depends on the pet and the breed. My poor dog absolutely cops it but is so gentle with her.
That's what happened to me
The boss is only 27 so it's good she (we) has time on her side. And in a way, the issues are with me more than her, so it could be a lot worse. The specialist was very confident we would not have issues.Nice mate, hopefully you guys make some breakthroughs on the IVF.
