Shit mate sorry to hear that. ****ing sucks. What's the long term outlook for her? Will she be able to live a normal painfree life after the surgery?
With the surgery it will prevent her from getting athritis as a teenager. There is little cartliage near her hip (I think) and if that continues it will wear away etc.

She's not in pain now either which is good, it's just if it's left alone long term it won't be good.

And probably need surgery in 6 months, we don't have private health (we have the money, but still), and we'll have a 6 month old, half pay etc etc. When it rains it pours.

It could obviously be so much worse but it's all relative.

It;'s something i worry about with the daughter, she had a hip scan because, according to my mother, they wanted to put me in a cast when i was born or something like that as there was hereditary hip dysplasia on her side. I dont think I ever got it (hip dysplasia), but my daughter was given the all clear, but I still worry.

It's much more common in girls than boys (1 in 600 girls, 1 in 2000 boys think)

If she has been given the all clear, then you've got nothing to worry about, luckily.

Anyone using CBA?

Somehow between myself and my missus being paid someone in Canada has been able to withdraw $9500 in fraudulent debit card transactions. Reportedly from a card made after successful random number generation.

International transactions switched off.

We don't keep money in everyday account for long, just enough for everyday stuff. Most of pay is transferred to offsets & mortgage repayments within days.

CBA are making us wait for the reversal but I am escalating as we need the money asap.

The worst part is it happened all within a few hours in the middle of the night. Very suspicious it happened in the few days the money sat in the account. Notifications were sent to NetBank asking do you recognise this activity. We didn't ok it - yet CBA somehow allowed $9500 in 12 transactions to go through.

They actually said can you get friends & familly to cover your mortgage & direct debits. Outrageous.

I'm done with them and are probably going through AFCA for compo.

Gee that’s a worry that you didn’t ok Ana yet money still came out. Can’t believe why they still haven’t paid you. Have always banked with them.

Any transaction you’ve done recently that may have caused you to think could be related?

Nothing at all. This seems to be an issue at CommBank as this is happening to people who have never used their card online anywhere. I would say theres a leak within CommBank as the scammers appear to know when funds are available and when to plunder accounts with money in them.

In all instances in my research all CBA does is send a message to NetBank saying "is this you making this transaction" and because it usually happens in the middle of the night no response is forthcoming and CBA allows the transactions to go through. These were transactions made in store in Canada and I had international transactions disabled but that also appears to not stop these people from my research.

This shit always seems to happen to you.

Also these ****ers are pretty much putting my missus through the ringer (it was her debit card that was linked to our debit card that was hacked). Pretty much she had to prove she didn't make the transactions in Canada ffs. Obviously this was easy.

In all of this there's no taking responsibility by CBA other than the poor employee on the end of the phone saying they're awfully sorry.

This hasn't ever happened before.

The last thing was my 9 year old son going nuts on roblox stuff but that was on the credit card, not our debit card.
Yeah not this exactly. A week ago you had some insurance issue haha

Yes, an insurance company low balling us on payout from a known uninsured 3rd party.

Got within 1k in the end so all good.

But yes we have had some bad luck!

I'm with CBA.

Had my card skimmed years ago and they drained my pay just after it had gone in (was being paid monthly at the time). They bought a hotel, train ticket and prostitute, all in Canada.

CBA had the funds back in my account the day after thank goodness.

Wow.....

There must be a leak within CBA which is frightening. I've looked into this and there are people having their cards skimmed that have never used it online anywhere, some with cards that were only a week old etc.

The fraud person I spoke to said they suspect someone's generating millions of combinations with a whole host of computers and they have a willing vendor (or employee of a vendor) that is allowing them to mass bulk attempt transactions on an instore terminal.

They get a hit on a small transaction, then they can actually make a card with a chip and use it quickly knowing it will be shut down pretty quickly.

Did you get notifications to your netbank saying these transactions are suspicious are you completing them? Because we got that and never authorised them but somehow they still managed to go through.

How expensive was the Canadian prostitute Jatz haha

Ours included $2250 at a high end parfume place at a fancy shopping mall.

I wonder if Mastercard wears this or the vendor. The vendor wouldn't have been in on the transaction as it was a established well known vendor which I won't name. Otherwise the vendor is down $2250 worth of perfume which also is shitty for them.

Geeze how cheap are hotels going in Canada?

Those damn Canadians
The guy I spoke to made me laugh.

"I assume these aren't for you but I'm required to ask...did you book a train ticket, hotel room and a prostitute tonight in Canada?" :tearsofjoy:

All up it was a bit over $4k spent.

This would be almost 10 years ago now though.
