My little one just started sleeping in her own room and it's fantastic, before then if she was going to bed at 8 and we were going up at 10 there was always a risk she'd wake up when we were going to bed. Generally good at sleeping through the night but last night decided to wake up at 4am which was fun.

Amazing news Cruyff, congratulations to all. Hope everyone is recovering and coping well (dad too of course haha).
Thanks mate. Yes, all doing well, but a little tired obviously. I should get used to that though by the sound of it
When you get really lucky, they'll sometimes nap at the same time...which is when you might think you'll get something done but inevitably you end up sitting on the couch, exhausted, waiting for them to wake up haha.

The month I was off with number 2, I ended up taking naps with number 1. I bloody missed that when I went back to work haha
Hahaha, yeah it's a fine line, isn't it?

I have 8 weeks off - including school holidays. Going to be a zombie inevitably when I return to work lol

Yeah J just went into his new room in the last month, he's been a terror to get to sleep (generally about an hour) but he's sleeping through all night for the first time in his life so that's been a godsend.

Number 2 is off the charts for weight and height and outgrew the bassinet way earlier than we expected so we had to move him into the nursery before we were kind of ready to haha.

my nearly 4 month old is terrible to get down to sleep, especially during the day, but sleeps 10-12 hours overnight... win some lose some. I get a week off next week as Im in Copenhagen for work, will miss her but will enjoy the few evenings to myself.

We're lucky we could fit the cot in our room so when she outgrew the bassinet she could still stay in with us. Just last week got her taking her naps in her room so that on the weekend when we got her sleeping in there at night she was fine with it which has been great. She's always been a late to bed late riser sort which we haven't really fought to adjust as a 9am wake up rather than 6am is nice!

Yeah thankfully ours aren't early risers. Bed around 7:30pm (so I get to spend some time with them after work) and then generally up around 7:30.

We've got friends who's kids are up at 5am and honestly, **** that haha

Nursery or bedroom/in a bed?

You have FaceTime though. Enjoy the uninterrupted sleep, independence and freedom you will get on those days.

Our eldest is always up early. She goes down around 7 most nights and sleeps til 5/5.30. Going down is also a challenge some nights. My wife does bedtime routine, on a good day it's about 20 minutes, on a bad day it can be an hour or longer. Think the longest we had (was in the last month) was nearly 2 hours.

We take a 5am wake up if she sleeps through the night, doesn't happen often though lol.

When she wakes up before 5 is when it is very hard.

Yeah last night was like 2 hours for my wife... We got told it has to be one parent as not to confuse her to get a routine going. She's a terror going into her cot, half the time you have to comfort nurse her to sleep or comfort her to sleep in your arms and then put her down. As I said she's only 17 weeks but we're trying aggressive training.

I never heard that about one parent, we tend to alternate and she goes to sleep reasonably well unless she's copping a tooth. Sometimes does better with me sometimes better with my wife but it's a bit of a lottery so we'll both give it a go if she's not settling.

Yeah we slept trained but my daughter has/had dypslasia and was in a brace so that really compliacted things.

Sleep training definitely works though, we got a bit sloppy and as I said, with the brace really made it hard.

And yeah, my wife has to rock our daughter to sleep too. She probably went into a bed a bit early, but we didn't have much of a choice. Hopefully as she gets older she will understand further.

What I meant by that was one parent per night. So I can hear her screaming and I want to help but I can't.

Yeah we still tag in on a night if she just won't settle for my wife or vice versa. No point my wife being exhausted and frustrated after an hour.

watched the first episode of adolescence. wow. loved it.
Dunno if I can with a daughter from what I've heard!

i didnt realise it was only 4 episodes. some of the best telly ive seen in a long time. loved the single shot camera used too. could be not only brilliant in how it was done, but could also be a very important piece of media thanks to the topics.

That should be tough. I would hate to think society has become desensitised to violence in that extreme (although I long suspect that's been the case).

I think you've somewhat missed my point.

What's your point?

Seriously?

Have a re-read or have a coffee. Not really keen to have a half a dozen post back and forth with you on this topic.

I agree with you? I was saying that it should be tough reading the Lillie James content.
