What do you expect to happen in the new one?

Not a clue, they're tearing down a lot of the established plot, but I suspect they'll take the best elements. So Han and Leia will have kids, Luke probably will too. Luke will die in the first a la Kenobi, but besides that no clue. Maybe someone trying to resurrect the legacy of Vader?

Well, he was only doing two shows in Melb and one in Sydney, so he was always going to be in huge demand. And the fact he puts on the greatest rock n roll show has something to do with it, I'm sure.

Fair enough, guess there's a friend of mine who has gone to some obscene amount of his shows in the last year or so which is where I got the impression he'd suddenly come back into vogue. Was always more a Bon Jovi fan, added to the fact that as you say I clearly don't have a clue about much of his stuff so was genuinely a bit surprised he was so popular.

I know a guy coming up to his 400th show. Crazy.

Bon Jovi is a poor mans Bruce, but that's just my opinion. Bed of Roses is a fantastic song, but to me a lot of his stuff is not lyrically or musically on the level of Bruce's.

His catalogue is well worth delving into. You won't be disappointed. I guarantee it.

Agreed. Their music dates very quickly to my ear. I get sick of Bon Jovi after a while, but I could listen to The Beatles for ages.

Thought I'd pop in and see what happens in this thread & the first thing I see is Bon Jovi is better than Springsteen!

Each to their own & all tastes are different - but that's really sad.

In a pub now. Lot of AC/DC and Bon Jovi from the band. Asked Mrs moomba about Jovi v Springsteen. She said she was into Bon Jovi, Bruce was just an old guy in tight jeans.

But Springsteen was the bigger icon and musical genius of the generation by far.
