He signed a 5 year deal at 550k a season (massive, massive unders). Didn't hold the club for ransom at all, never had any intention of leaving. I know that as fact. Has been building a house in Carlton all year. Is a top quality individual and player. Doesn't compare to Tippet of course

Massive. So happy for Sammy! He's a crowd favourite, that's for sure. Not the most gifted footballer but geez he's come on in leaps and bounds this season! There were some rumours that he was asking for a lot more money that we weren't prepared to offer but I don't expect he will leave Carlton.

I would say he is, ankle has constantly been an issue for him. As someone with a dodgy ankle I can completely understand what he's going through but that just makes me more convinced that it'll be something that will continue to plague him.
