I can't stand the SCG for footy. The facilities are good though

Each to their own but I absolutely love it and have heard nothing but good things from first-timers.

It's much better than ANZ. only bad memory I have of the place is Sydney vs Carlton in 2011 on the pouring night. Not having a dig at Carlton supporters but 2 blokes right in front of us, barracking Carlton, would not stop hasseling this old Swans supporting couple, to the point where the 2 carlton blokes threw their chips at them when the siren went. 2 absolute dickheads.
At least make it believable.
Carlton fans don't make any noise and don't have passion.
Well, not those that bothered to turn up on Sunday.

Cheersquad 5 bays away. Couldn't hear a word out of them, but you could hear their clapping in the chants.
On the other hand, I could hear the Crows cheersquad (in the Ponsford Stand) from M55 (right where the Olympic meets the GSS)

Oh, and SCG is a very underrated stadium. A little hassle with public transports (**** buses, need trains, but none go there) and the facilities in some places (O'Reilly for example) aren't that great. But the atmosphere puts it at #2 in the stadiums I've been to in Oz.

Once they complete phase 3 of the redevelopment I think it would be extremely close to overtaking the MCG and being the #2 stadium in Australia. (Cue some shit citing a rare example the MCG only gets one every 5 weeks - Yeah, but outside of those few big matches, it's SHIT. The first 2 games I went there were great as they were finals vs Pies and Hawks, this weekend it was crap, and that one game alone has me actually contemplating putting the stadium below the SCG in 3rd best in the country right now)

I believe there's going to be a light rail service which will go out to Moore Park, which will be good because as you said the PT out there is woeful.

I've only taken public transport to the game once.
About 97-99. Was a daytime game.

Got to Penrith train station, jumped on the train, then we went a few stops. Got to Blacktown.
Trainworks, had to then take a bus to Chatswood (I think) - That's 2-3 stops south from Concord on the Northern line right? And yes, I know I'm on the western line from Penrith, both go from there.
Then hop on another train, go into Central.
Then hop on a bus at Central to head to the game.

That 1 game was a nightmare, and ever since it's drive in and park at Vic Barracks (dad was military or public servant so could get access there on matchday)

I feel you need to sell some Pool players to improve your squad.
Like who?

I was thinking of selling Sturridge and Lucas but unless offers come in and you can push the price, if you transfer list them, you just end up selling them for their value which is shit. Besides replacing them with my top targets doesnt happen as they refuse to come because we still havent done anything in Europe or in England.

If I win the league or the CL, then all of a sudden, Pogba, Vidal, Wilshere, Gotze, etc will want to come.

Oh good, I was wondering when you might turn up. I guess we will have to be OK with winning games rather than having a loud cheer squad ;)

Honestly don't get Adelaide people and their fascination with how loud someone is. This isn't football (the round kind), it makes absolutely no difference.

SCG is an excellent cricket ground. Awful for football. Especially with the way the swans played on it in the mid 2000's. Used to have the nickname the 'Suffocating Cricket Ground'.

Do you mean they're implementing one in the future?

Transport out there is truly awful. Luckily for me, I know someone that works there and we always park in the staff park. Incredibly easy to get out of.

Yep, ANZ is the worst stadium in aus for anything that isn't played on a rectangular field and isn't sold out. Awful, awful ground. The playing surface is always shit to.

Ahh yeah, never good to hear about that kind of stuff. I was at that game on a date (she was a big hawks supporter). Insisted we sat in the rain the entire time. Rather impressive effort if you ask me haha. I remember Judd had a massive night, that was the first time we'd won there in like 15 years or something

First timers would indicate they know nothing about the game or venues ;)

As you say, each to their own. I just dislike it. Hate watching on TV, being at the ground isn't much better.

Oh dear. Just cos you win CL does not mean these players will be attainable.

I was back to back league champion + CL winner and Juve wanted over 60 for Pogba IIRC.

Absolutely pouring night. Never been more drenched. Juddy had his usual huge 3rd quarter against us. Was one of the best individual quarters I've seen.

I mean first time at the venue, not first time at an AFL match.

Yeah, I'll see if I can find the video about it.

You lucky man. I remember a few years ago after an Essendon/Swans game there, it had been absolutely pissing down (seems to happen for most Swans/Bombers games there, actually), so the stupid grass parking area was just all mud and it took us nearly an hour to get out of it.

Started a new Liverpool save on Fm 14. Signed Moreno, Balanta, Matias Fernandez, Arbeloa. Cannot win at the moment. Got beaten 3-1 by Norwich at home. Sturridge out for 3 months thanks to international duty. What tactics do you lads use for Liverpool? Cannot get past November/December with them! Tried to sign Iancu but had WP issues. Suarez has one game of his ban to go.

I usually go with:

Mignolet
Moreno-Agger-Sakho-Arbeloa
Gerrard
Fernandez-Henderson
Sterling-Coutinho on the wings
Aspas/Sinclair/Alberto

Yep, similar to the game last year as well. Monsoonal weather.

Yep, one of his best quarters for the Carlton side. His 3rd quarter in the EF against the Swans at ANZ was the best quarter I've seen by an individual in a long time. His 3rd quarter in last years EF on one leg was unbelievable as well.

We've sorely missed him this season

That game in 2011 we were talking about earlier, I parked in that same spot as you mentioned. Also turned to mud. Won't ever park there again, truly awful experience.

Still think the wettest game at the SCG was Swans vs St Kilda late in 2001. Bucketed down and thunderstormed from half time onwards. Matthew Nicks kicked 6.7 that day and had 26 disposals. Could've had one of the best stat lines ever.

Admittedly I wasn't there for that Saints game but the Carlton game last year was absolutely torrential to the point that we could hardly see the ground from our seats. Never sat in anything quite like it.

Sydney games seem to have horrible weather. GWS v Swans in round 1. GWS vs Melbourne Round 3. Swans vs North round 4. Then last year there were a few as well.

Yeah we always seem to cop shit weather for our home games. Last year every game seemed to be pissing down.
