When I think the AFL tried to fix a game yes.
Clearly you didn't see the Carlton Brisbane game last night.

Alistair Lynch was laughing in the commentary box about the calls that Brisbane got in the last quarter. When an ex player agrees we got some BS calls, you know it was bad.

Please don't tell me you mean the Yarran 'mark'.

So there's a podcast for this board in the works, hosted by some dickhead, but was wondering if anyone was keen to be the fourth amigo for our motley crew? Have The Prosecutor and Cooksen interested already for an 8pm recording tomorrow night, but a fourth member would be appreciated. Aiming to preview the World Cup groups and maybe squeeze in some transfer talk if we have time. Would likely be a weekly thing. :)

Sounds like a great idea, I'd be interested if it wasn't for exams.

You're seriously complaining about free kicks after a 6 goal win?
And you wouldn't? 4 bloody free kicks in a whole match. It was ridiculous to watch, as if they were taking the piss out of it.

Carlton got screwed to, unlucky for them it was in a close game.

Well we're happy to go with the three for this week, and not entirely sure if it'll happen every week to start with, but once EPL kicks off again it'd be pretty regular and there'd be lots of opportunity for different people to come on.

Things tend to balance out in the long-run, I agree that Freo were unlucky but I'd just be satisfied that my team won. Carlton also only have themselves to blame, if they were a better side they wouldn't be in a position where a couple of bad calls can have an impact.

While I agree to an extent, surely we should expect the umpires to get simple decisions right.

Brisbane were gifted 4 or 5 goals yesterday and in the end that makes the difference.

Yes we should have put the result beyond doubt ourselves. No argument there. In the scenario we don't though, we should expect the umpiring to be consistent and correct.

It peeves me that it was so blatantly one sided that the commentators were acknowledging and laughing about it.

Awesome, my suggestion was taken seriously!

Will there be blackjack and hookers, though?

I agree, but umpiring will never be 100% so you have to take what you're given to an extent. Mind you I tend to get a bit more worked about it when Hawthorn play, so I guess its easy to say when its not my team :p

I normally hate the cop out about the umpiring but in our game, it was so obviously wrong that it's hard not to get frustrated.

Kudos to Brisbane, they were ahead when it counted but geeze that game has left a real sour taste.

When does the PL start back up again?? :(
