Wouldn't be legit. So many cast rumours. They were meant to confirm Ford, Hamill and Fischer at Celebration VI (or whatever they're up to now). Kinda getting annoyed with this lack of news. They were meant to start filming in January and I was going to pop over to have a look but they postponed to May. So hopefully some news in the next month or so.

Lena Dunham, the chick from Girls was on Twitter offering him congratulations, then quickly played it down, pretending she didnt know for sure.

The prequels were the worst movies ever. ****ing hate them. I hold out hope for Star Wars to be awesome again now that they are out of George Lucas' hands. JJ Abrams is pretty boss. Hopefully he can make them dark and awesome.

Could you imagine a show like Game of Thrones, that kind of production, get awesome writers in and make Star Wars TV show, it would be the greatest thing ever.

The prequels were the worst movies ever. ******* hate them. I hold out hope for Star Wars to be awesome again now that they are out of George Lucas' hands. JJ Abrams is pretty boss. Hopefully he can make them dark and awesome.

ROTS was fine in my books, apart from some of the dialogue. Maybe that's shaded by having read the novelisation first, which is ****ing fantastic. But I still re-watch them from time to time. They're making a new animated show, which looks terrible. I've gotta say though, the last season or two of The Clone Wars (haven't seen the recently released content yet) was actually genuinely good Star Wars. The first few seasons were just little kid trash, but it actually got interesting and watchable towards the end.

I'd go the latter, his writing ability is horrific. If you haven't, I strongly recommend reading the novelisation, then watch the movie again, and look what happens when someone takes his story line and adds in actually believable, good dialogue, and see how much more amazing that story is.

Yeah that scene is bad, but you can't tar the whole movie with that. The duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan was epic, the moment Order 66 is executed was genuinely heart-wrenching (ok I was pretty young at the time), and the opening scene of the movie is one of the best CGI efforts I have seen to date.

Plots in the final season - including the bent Jedi General, the framing of Anakin's padawan etc. were actually very adult in theme and well written.

I was something like 8 when the first one came out, I loved it at the time, and grew up with the rest of them. Not sure what was so horrific about the first.

I actually heard a great quote from someone - may have been Lucas, or just a reviwer - that everyone pans the first because of Jar-Jar Binks. Not because the CGI was terrible, not because he was unbelievable, but because he was a shit character. If nothing else that shows the amazing CGI ability Lucas was able to create and use in 1998.

True to an extent, but remember the reason everyone fell in love with ANH was that shot of the Star Destroyer going overhead, so it's not as if people hated CGI in the Originals.

Yep. Not sure if you've heard of them but there's a series of fan-edits being made, can't remember the name, will check when I'm home. He's almost finished ESB, and only ANH has been released, but they're both fantastic quality - and makes me embarrassed that the professionals working for Lucas Film haven't been able to do similar. He's just done minor things like fixing colouring, made the effects more believable etc. and reduced a lot of the crap CGI that Lucas shoved in the Special Editions. He's gonna do the prequels too so they might be worth checking out.

Luke getting over his Uncle and Aunt's deaths and joining Obi-Wan's mission was just as hasty IMO.
