Not into Game of Thrones myself, but if anyone is looking for a nice comedy to watch, cannot recommend "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" highly enough. Fans of the Office will enjoy it I think. First season finished a month or so ago.
Currently going through the Office for the first time.

Up to season 6. Honestly one of the funniest shows I've ever watched. There are some moments that aren't particularly funny but the hysterical moments definitely make up for it.

The Fire drill scene was honestly one of the best scenes I've ever watched :thumbsu::D

Far out. Not sure I've got all that time.

Has anyone seen Hannibal? Started watching a few of those episodes - very, very good :thumbsu:

You don't need to, guess just saying that it's one of those shows you can re-watch and deepen your understanding. There's A LOT going on lol.

I just cant get into it. The original Office is so good, like literally perfect television that the US version just seems shite.

Speaking of Gervais, has anyone seen Derek? I liked the first series, haven't seen the second yet.

Yeh I like it. Pilkington not in most of the 2nd is disappointing but I enjoyed it. Not just a comedy really but still has some good laughs.

I couldn't stand the British one. Must have been because I watched the US one first.

That and I cant stand Ricky Gervais.
Well that is your first mistake. If you want sitcom rubbish then the US version is for you. If you want perfect television then the original Office is just that.

Sitcom rubbish it is then.

The UK one was just not funny.

The US one isn't always great but it's best moments are far more hilarious than anything in the UK one.

We clearly have different sense of humour. The UK one is HILARIOUS!

What other comedy shows you like. I fear we have very different taste.

Like Jod says I think it depends on your sense of humour, but I really don't like many US comedies, the Brits just do humour a lot better. US is far too slapstick for me.

Why is that a fear? :p

I watch heaps. Love Scrubs, thought Community was good for the first three seasons - went downhill badly after that.

Scrubs is about the only slapstick show I don't mind. Great show that.

Season 5 started so promisingly, but dropped back to season 4 levels of shit.

Yep. Can't believe how terrible it got. Wasn't a big surprise to see it get canned.

Anyone watched Misfits? Speaking of British shows. It's not quite a comedy but does have its funny moments and was a quality show for the first two seasons of so. Haven't even tried to watch Season 4 though...

Community I absolutely love. Even the shitter Community I still love. The first two seasons in particular are genius. Scrubs was alright.

The English do comedy better. Apart from Seinfeld it's all English for me. Office, Fawlty Towers, Monty Python, The Inbetweeners etc etc

I don't mind some sitcoms like HIMYM, Friends, Will & Grace etc. but for comedies in the mold of The Office, Community etc. I prefer the Brits.

Doesn't have to be one or the other, i love plenty of US comedies just as much as British ones (including both versions of the Office).

Either way, Arrested Development is still the best comedy of all time.
