Back on the FM. Sold Sturridge for 50 million pounds to City. Bought Costa and Martinez for a combined 40 million. Jordy Clase was on offer for 8 million so jumped there quickly. Sakho to Monaco for 15mil, Rugani in for 5mil, SJon Silva as well. Moreno to PSG for 15mil also.

Won 1st league game 1-0 away to Forest, just promoted, Martinez injury time winner. Won the tie against some Swedish team in Euro Cup qualifiers 6-0. Then played West Brom at home. Won 6-1, Suarez with 5 goals!! Sven Bender has been huge so far and sorted out the DM problem, Diego Reyes hasn't got a sniff yet.

Anyone been hitting up the Steam summer sale? FM14 is up today for $17.49. I have purchased 7 games already, probably barely play some of them but when most are under $10 can't complain!

This season has been a frustrating one for me. Id been chasing Erik Lamela for about 4 years but have never been able to pry him away from Tottenham where he has been tearing it apart. Then a week before the deadline, he says he wants out and is available for 40 million. Problem is id done most of my business and had nowhere near that much so I had to figure out some way to conjure up the funds to buy him.

Ended up doing all sort of deals to finally land him on deadline day. But I left myself with just 6 first team defenders. J.Silva, M.Sakho, A.Wisdom, L.Rougier (regen RB) B.Nautraup (regen CB) and R.Rodriguez.

So I had Silva and Rodriguez at LB, Wisdom, Sakho and Nautraup for CB and just Rougier at RB. I had no real backup at RB. Wisdom can play there, so I really had just one back up at RB and CB in Wisdom.

Then of course by boss young regen CB Nautraup in the first weeks of the season goes down for 3 months with an ankle problem. Im absolutely bare bones down the back and I cant even bring someone in on a free just to help out as my wages at the absolute limit.

Then to add injury to insult. After all the wheeling and dealing which cost me two defenders to get Lamela through the door, like Nautraup, first three weeks of the season, he goes down for 4 months with an injury.

FML.

Ive managed to hang in there, still in 2nd spot, 3 points behind Chelsea as we head into January. Made it out of my CL group and have drawn Barcelona in the first knockout stage. Also into the League Cup semi finals.

Ive had to bring up 17 year old CB Olesen (regen) at some points during the season just to suspensions from my defenders or small injuries. Really need to get Nautraup back from injury. Then at the end of the summer, im in for at least two defenders, a central defender and a RB.

You guys gotta learn how to rape the loan system.

Every season, no matter what club i'm at i'll have 3-4 big name players on loan to cover any holes in my team.

Look for transfer listed players. Clubs like Juventus that have broken youth systems will often have gun youngsters available for loan.

I very rarely loan players. Maybe I should try to loan in a defender in January but pay none of his wages. Yeah probably wont work.
