Anyone on here ever taken a job that were a bit iffy about and then after a week realised it's a complete nightmare?

FML.. will give it another week or so. Really should have been more picky!
Yep. Lasted 2 weeks and then quit over the christmas break.

Suicide Squad! Was hanging out for Deadpool as well and that didn't disappoint!

Yeah, that looks like its going to be another ripper! Super keen to see Leto's Joker. My birthday is in August (when the film is meant to drop) so I'm pumped. :D

Bought IMAX & gold class tickets yesterday. Still very worried about this though, so my expectations are (kind of) in check.

Lucky man! I think I've gone from the worry end of the spectrum to the confident one again. I think it's going to be a great view! :p

I'm thinking about moving roles in the nearish future. Went to an interview a fortnight ago and was a bit iffy about it (small team, a bit out of my way). Thankfully didn't progress that much as they ended up getting someone in via internal reference but definitely gave me a fresh reminder to be a bit wary about applying for roles through a recruiter when the company isn't mentioned.

Yeah I reckon I'll last the same time. Being trained by a woman that is the definition of the word c***. That word gets used way too often but she actually fits the bill well. I'll give it a week once she goes and see what happens when

You can normally tell pretty quickly. I'm often surprised by how often my intuition seems to be right.

I grew up and worked in the North West part of Western Australia.

Average yearly temp 32C -

Averages
Nov 37.4
Dec 38.9
Jan 39.5

It wasn't uncommon for it to be 30+ at 9-10 in the morning nor was it uncommon to have multiple days of 40-46 any given week.

One day we looked at the thermometer on one of our work trucks, 52C (working in a Gully so its like an oven keeping the heat in).
Which bit? Former Karratha boy here

My manage has terrible communication skills, no man management skills whatsoever, and expects us to know everything without the proper training.

It's a joke.
You don't know everything already?!

Pffft, you're the joke :p:cool:

It's incredibly frustrating. They have this sink or swim attitude which is ridiculous.

You ask questions, it's why are you asking these questions, you should know, and if you don't, it's why didn't you ask if you were unsure.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

That's management for you. I should know, I'm now in it :D

It's not so much management with my job but the dragon bitch doing the handover. She's gone now and who knows how much or how little I've actually been properly shown

Have you turned into someone who lacks all logical thinking upon taking on the new role?
No. But to be fair, I never had that before taking the new role ;)

Na my job is heavily process driven. It's based around logic completely.

Haha, as you've been saying.

Give it a few and see how it goes!

I am in a processing/admin role too. But there are a lot of things you need to. check and each thing can be different (builder's warranty insurance).

But the higher ups are clueless about how to correctly run and manage a team.
