I can't speak for the North because I haven't lived there but the demographic of a lot of the Northern cities are not pure 4th generation+ poms. They may have voted out, have you looked at the votes?

It's not really about immigration - that will continue primarily from commonwealth countries who mostly look a lot less British than Europeans.

This was more about Britons being fed up with the establishment, about not having their voices heard and about being sick of being told lies. It's also about taking back control from Europeans and making our own decisions. We entered the EU as a trade partner only, but it has become a political pact now. We no longer want to be part of that, and I think the people have done a great thing in walking away. I expect other countries will do the same now and the thing will crumble

No one said immigration was rising, UKIP pushed the fact that voting out would decrease immigration, which they've already admitted won't happen.

It's messy - but I have to think we did the right thing. Junker gave Cameron hardly any concessions. They gambled on us caving in and they've lost.
