Pretty good draw they should fly the gates, two back to back interstate trips only draw back. Important they have good pre-season.

Points of note I've raised on the blog:

1. Twice we have double header road trips Fremantle/Adelaide & Kangaroos/Brisbane which will be testing.
2. 5 away games in a row Rounds 4-8 although 4 of them are in Melbourne.
3. Strange decision to play our home game against the Western Bulldogs at TD instead of maybe Melbourne/Hawthorn?

The fact we play quite a few home games in a row probably evens the first two points out a bit

The fact we have a pretty good run, no interstate trips and lots of games at skilled, at the start and finish of the season saves the draw. I'm sure the Roos or Doggies etc. have more to complain about.

The Freo - Adelaide double header at least has an 8 day break, while the other has a 7 day break, so we get off pretty lightly.

Another thing is that we play on the last Sunday of the season, which means we could be facing another lot of two six day breaks in the first two weeks of the finals should fate see us in a similar position to this year.

Overall I'm happy, going by this season, the teams we play twice are more middle of the road, rather than top of the pile.

I figure you have to take into account our interstate form also though. Possible back to back losses isn't exactly confidence boosting, but then again if we win both...

I'd be hesitant to judge that going on this year - a lot of the teams we played twice were teams that at the start of the season everyone thought were not that great, and counted the games as clear wins.
But I agree with the sentiment at this point.

I'm pretty pleased - there's 13 games I'll definitely be able to go to (all Friday night and Saturday games in Melbourne) plus maybe a road trip or two...

Come on 2006!

Not a bad draw, and I'm pleased to have more Saturday games. There's just something about footy on a Saturday arvo.

I was a little concerned about the Perth/Adelaide double header but having the bye in between will be great. I reckon we'll win at least one of those anyway, our travelling form was pretty decent last year with one or two injury-riddled exceptions.
