I know it's been said 1000 times, but surely if the Saints let Dal go as a FA we would give them Keys for their last pick. I just don't get the issue. There must be other things at play here
2 weeks ago most definitely. But after all this f***ing around I hope we sign NDS as a FA and then have a bidding war between Brisbane and St Kilda for keys

How is 37 for a guy who played 4 senior games unders? We always over rate our own players when they are going elsewhere
On its own his value is determined by what the opposition is willing to pay. If Brisbane are willing to pay more for him, what is he worth then?

But in this situation we need to remove emotion. If the saints said two weeks ago that they will let Dal Santo go FA if we deal a fourth for Delaney we would probably have jumped at it. Given that the saints are still non committal about releasing him then why should we automatically guarantee then Delaney on their grounds?

correct, tell me again what did we pay?

And yet most on here don't give a hoot about the other players that are on the verge of being traded or delisted, (most of whom we have paid a lot more for).

Keys has shown he can do it, albeit in capacity not overwhelming.

I agree remove the emotion. Delaney has played 26 games in 3 years. What would we pay to get him if he was at another club. I suggest we would not be lining up o pay more than pick 37

I don't think we would either. But then we aren't in need of a KPD. When this is all said and done I expect he will be a Saint but I would be curious to know what Brisbane and the Blues were willing to part with considering they are supposedly interested.

Seems legit.

We gave macintosh last year for pick37 didn't we? A guy who was in the all Australian squad. To say that delany has the same value this year is laughable. People you can't get a game in your first side shouldn't have much value at all.

Hampson for pick 28. Delaney is worth 37 on that basis.

Hamish was on the cheaper side because of his injury history and $$$.

Yeah look, I was in a half-asleep delirium when I posted this and actually ment overs for the saints..

Delaney is nothing more than depth for us, and despite improvement, most posters here would agree that he is only a temporary backup and would not be in our best 22.

I think pick 55 is very fair. North appear to be asking more because he is an in-demand player but tbh I think we should just take NDS, give you guys Delaney for 55, and accept the deal as a win-win.
