Anyone know how basti's brother is going in u18 and what range he is likely to get drafted
Very unlikely to be picked up, if he does get picked up it will be in the rookie draft.

I cant see it happening, who knows though North may give him a year as a rookie to keep Ryan happy as he comes out of contract next year i think.

I would be disapointed if we got Martin and personaly i don't think too many clubs would be too interested in him either. The only clubs i could see picking him up would be, Melbourne, St Kilda, GWS or brisbane and when you look at the position those four clubs are in it would appear they would be taking a punt on him pulling his head in rather than activley seeking him out due to him being a good fit for their club. It takes years to change and nuture a good culture at a football club and it can be distroyed with one bad decision. He is decent player, asking an excessive salary and he's carrying too much baggage. PASS.

I would be horrified if the club gave a spot to a kid that they didn't think was worth it, just to please a listed player.

I actually think it is worse to rookie the delist him than to not touch him at all. If he is good enough have a look but otherwise it's asking for trouble.

I don't recall anyone ever (except yourself) referring to Dustin as the next Leigh Mathews.
Look, I'm not here pumping up this crack heads profile for no reason, I'm of the opinion that if we can pay Dustin 600k and satisfy the Tiges in a trade, I would sleep better at night that he, and not Eduardo Betts is our highest paid player.

The consensus of the football community (rightly or wrongly) is that he is better than Ziebell.

When everyone else is shorting his stock, it's time for us to buy at the bottom of the market. He is well within his rights to ask for 600k given scully's contract at GWS. Imagine you were inducted into a grad program at x company and your colleague who you have clearly outperformed is earning 3-4x what you are earning. Gangsta, crack head, nephew of Walter Whyte notwithstanding, you can understand why he is pissed.

Dustin Martin and Sam Fisher were at the Essendon District League Premier Division Grand Final together on Saturday. Saw them in the bar together having a beer or a few at half time.

I thought it was fairly odd to see them together, could be heading to the same club?
I suspect Dusty was there to watch Daniel Connors who plays for Aberfeldie. You know, the guy he was told to stay away from.

My consensus is that the football community needs a reality check.

Unless Richmond is prepared to say enough is enough and just cut their losses this headf... is gunna come at an almighty cost in players and picks, something close to what Colby cost us, and where we are today in development we don't have a stack of 200+ games players who will soon be overtaken by youth so you are talking about a Cunnington and Basti and our 2nd rounder or do you want to say to LMac "sorry but we thought Martin was a better option", to me I am more then happy to stand behind the list we have built over the last 7 seasons since we began this youth journey towards the end of Laidley's tenure. I say we don't get nervous at the last hurdle and make a silly decision because some one in the media believes headf... is a better player then Jack or for that matter some BF blogger thinks it.

if you think I am wrong, tell me, what will Richmond want? I bet the answer is "more then we a prepared to give up" so I am more then happy to get NDS, LMac and another kid or two.

BTW, Eddie and NDS will not cost us anything besides spending the money we have not spent for the last decade.

Herald-Sun article excerpt:

The Bombers last night re-signed ruckman Tom Bellchambers on a two-year deal after he rejected offers from Greater Western Sydney and Hawthorn.

The Bombers now seem long odds to match a pitch for Saint Nick Dal Santo given their tight salary cap and his salary demands.

He has a clause for a final year of his contract which is believed to be over $600,000, a figure the Bombers could not get close to matching.

It means North Melbourne remains firmly in the box seat to lure three-time All-Australian Nick Dal Santo.

If it offered him a longer term deal it could restructure his contract, but clearly has room in its cap to secure him or Eddie Betts.

Dal Santo is in Thailand this week considering his future.

St Kilda wants a first-round pick for Dal Santo and will likely only be offered a second-round pick, but trading a player like Myers would give Essendon some picks to work with at the trade table.

I was all on board to gain the services of the Greatest ST Kilda footballer to ever pull on a pair of boots as a free agent, but if they want to be greedy and expect a trade of picks when they should be getting an end of first rounder as a FA, they can GAGF and pay his $600K salary. He aint worth a prospective Black or Harper (yeah yeah third year blues, get over it).

Im with you there, if its giving the saints some steak knives to go with the FA compo im all for it. But as for trading serious picks for NDS no thanks.

Happy to let the Saints choke on thier own salary cap issues and aging list if they want to be dicks.

LIES!!!! We're not committed! We're keeping our options open and err I've heard Boyd could drop to 8. We're not even sure if we're going to pick him up.

I heard from scooby's very credible source..
