Kidd is nothing if not ambitious. Wow. Potentially a huge loss for the Nets - obviously Billy King is a protected species as far as his role in the organisation goes.

This is like the perfect story about Kidd that you'd want to hear, but probably not really true, though still good for the lulz.

And the front office is unaware of the Bucks planning to interview Kidd. Another case of new owners trying to make a splash?

I think this is more to do with Prokhorov not wanting to hand Kidd that much authority after one season.

The Bucks have apparently offered him the POBO role already.

Surprise!

Less than 30 minutes later... (bigger) surprise!

Smart move/s if they wanted to keep competing for titles... Miami bending over backwards for LeBron it would seem.

Willing to bet Wade has a lucrative lifetime ambassadorial role for the Heat awaiting him the minute he retires.
Happy days...we are gunna do something good here and people gunna be mad

It's not as good as it sounds.

LeBron wants the max, Bosh wants 15-16M and who knows what D-Whistle wants.

They aren't going to be able to significantly upgrade the roster unless people still take a significant pay cut.

It's an obvious step they are going to though. Otherwise Bosh and Wade would have opted-in and taken the salary which was way above their likely output.

But they don't need to significantly upgrade their roster. If they add 1 or 2 more solid pieces they are straight back to the Finals.

attention on the 76ers for a moment. been thinking about it....so they have noel, hakeem II, saric. we wont see the trio for at least 18-24 months. they will most likely suck next season.

from my sources, next years draft (to be held in just under a year) is a bumper crop for big men. Im thinking they will have a lottery pick, and will have the ability to parlay the high pick into a smaller player to help out MCW.

They'll likely have scad loads of cap room too; even if Thad Young opts in, the keep the four first round picks on the roster (MCW, Wroten, Moultrie and Noel) and they pick up options on the pitiful collection of 2nd round list cloggers they have more than $40 million in cap space before signing Embiid.

Cap space has never won a playoff game. If they think 2 big men with injury history, a PG who cant shoot, and a stashed Euro is a reasonable rebuilding plan, they have no idea.

Classic case of a GM who is buying time before he can be judged as incompetent.

Next year they'll be in prime position for Jahill Okafor or Emmanuel Mudiay, two more excellent prospects.

Why isn't it a good rebuilding plan? They drafted some guys with high ceilings and have amassed a lot of assets that can be flipped into something major if the opportunity arises.

Seems like a great start to a rebuild.

Im not sure of the exact deadlines, but if Im Mark Cuban (Im not), I sign Parsons to a qualifying offer. 40/4.

Force them to overpay Parsons, or let him go and invest in a 20% chance of getting Melo.
