Yeah Rutten was pretty good today- didnt realise he's capabilities at full back. Was pretty funny actually when Schell pushed Benny into the point post at one stage!

That was hilarious. Almost as funny as when Schell was walking the boundary line after being dragged and getting told he was soft by every second person, even the Doggies supporters. And being told by the Westies supporters that he'll never be half as good as Rutten :p

If he was quicker he would be a very good fullback for us. His one on one work with his oppents is very good and the way he uses his strength in marking contests is pretty good. I just hope he was quicker and more agile:(

Still time Stiffy as he is only young. Remeber gow uncordinated Kenny was when he 1st came into our team. Could always play Rutten at FF & move Stevo down back.

Not happy at all. AFC must be damn stupid!

Todays GF demonstrated clearly to even those who know buggar all about footy, that Marsh is a dud player.

Just because he is tall doesn't mean he deserves a place on our list. Better off going for unknowns who have a heart.

Agreed!!

Personally I think he is best suited in the back line but with his lack of speed and mobility, it is highly unlikely that he'll be a key defender at AFL level. I just would LOVe him to gain a yard or 2 of pace and improve his agility by some 30-50%. Then he would be a GUN:D

Yeah he gave away a goal to the ferals because he was too slow to get to the ball :(

And there were two where he didn't have the mobility to get down to the ground level ball and the Doggies players kicked it off the ground for goals.

Well spotted.

Rutten cost 3 goals through his lack of agility, flexibility and leg speed.

He tried his guts out, but gets really caught out when the factors mentioned above come into play. He can't be played in defence at AFL level for this reason, unless he improves his leg speed and mobility.

Rutten has got enormous ability. Sadly it will never be used unless he can improve these deficiencies.

As for Ben Marsh, the #$@#$%# lowered his already feeble trade value with a shocking performance. He got caned by the lad from Centrals who in turn is only just a ruckman.

Marsh is our 2nd worse player behind Schell.

Cooney showed why he is going to be the #1 draft pick.

Sansbury will be rookie listed at worst IMO.

Hassan tried to be a little too smart. Could still be drafted, but hopefully not by us.

What happened to Porplyzia. I can't even recall him at all during the game???

He did himself no favours today about promotion to senior list. He played a stinker.

Unfortunately there were only 3 players that tried their guts out for the Westies today, Rutten, Myles and Dabraowski.

I had a nice chat with Hamish Arthur today and he said that Carlton have been sniffing around a bit about Dabraowski. The bolke has improved out of sigght this year. Sam Fisher is a pretty impressive overhead mark as well.

As promised.
Thanks Ben Marshmellow for your outstanding performance today for Westies.
Trotting up and down the eastwern wing was at least good for your fitness you lanky piece of pelican ****.
How many kicks the boy get today? Most were from dodgy frees. Umpires what were they on today - bot sides suffered under the yoke of their strange rationale.
Schell wasn't great, but was harmed by poor delivery up forward and then a lack of complete loss of confidence from his team-mates because he got outbodied after their dodgy kicks.
But this thread isnt abgout Schell- its about Ben Marsh - dud.
He played the game I hoped he would. WOO HOO!

Ive only listened to the last half.
If that commentary was any guage Ben Marsh would have got into the best players.

We "must" persist with him with big men so scarce!!

That; I appreciate.

noddy, you must be smoking some evil green weed.

There is more chance of me going to the moon next year, than Marsh becoming a half-decent AFL player.

Read my lips - he is a D U D!!!

Actually gave up the maui-wowie in the 70s (along with the other forbidden delights of that era)

& i fully agree with your Ben Marsh assessment & after sundays GF performance he has reinforced the view of all of us just what a soft player he really is,

Closing his eyes & dropping his head when contesting an overhead mark & that feeble attempt against a Matty Primus type in Marco Bello was the icing on the cake,

But i still believe if there is nothing around to replace him then he will be on our list for next year, i doubt very much the memory of 99 has been forgotten at the AFC when we lost all our ruckman at some stage of the year & was forced to use Ormand-Allen as a knock ruckman in one game ( & before you say it "yes he still would have been better than Ben" )

Can't read your lips Kane they seem to be quivering in anger a little to much for me to understand, :D
