The union attorney (Kessler) threatened this in February 2010, so it's been their plan all along if they didn't get the deal they wanted. Anyone with half a brain and a bit of foresight knew Stern was going to keep screwing them down. Why not bring the plan into action right away when the season wasn't in jeopardy?
