Can't believe the amount of salt coming from the Lakers fanbase in general. Honestly who gives a shit about in individual records. It does not change the views on Kobe as a player one way or another.

It's not just lakers fans. It's everyone across the board equally. Of course Lakers fans are targeted and quoted as it plays into a story.

As for caring for individual records, I think Bam cares as he should.

Other interesting takes included a stab at "Heat Culture" in permitting gratuitous stat padding and deliberate fouling to retrieve the ball.

Just my view, it wasn’t an overly impressive game.

He was 36/43 from free throws. Remove those, it’s a good NBA night. 83 without the free throws is outstanding. Free throw merchant.

In the scheme of it who cares though? It is just a number it doesn't mean Bam is any better than what he is because he achieved that feat and it doesn't mean Kobe is any less of a player because someone overtook that score.

Sports fans are weird because it is Kobe it's like no one was allowed to pass it. If SGA passed it the outcry would be huge about flopping, Brunson also.... Lebron people would have shat on it because they have this weird obsession with the whole MJ and Lebron bullshit debate.

In the end who gives a shit its just a number and it was a game that nobody will remember or talk about in a years time.

just watch some of these ‘fouls’ 😂 don’t get me wrong a lot of them were there but there was at least a handful that are never called.

The last 2 in particular were laughable

The entire NBA is a soft free throw system now. Heaps of free throw merchant in the league now.

Regardless of being on a b2b, Houston $3.30 today and +7.5 line is insane.
We are too short. We are horrendous against any playoff team lately. Just get wins against the tankers.

For me it wasnt so much Kobe. I just didnt like how hard it was chased when the game was over. How many times have guys had big numbers after three quarters but dont play because the last because the game is over? Theres probably a few scenarios of players if they blatantly chased like that probably get more.

You said that last week. Houston are overrated & Denver will handle them accordingly. Always a trap spot going to mile high on a b2b.

Edit: Joker can put his feet up for Spurs tomm night at 3qtr time. Houston are trash.

This is awful from the Knicks. Problem all year how can you beat the Spurs by 20 odd and Denver by 39 to lose to both LA teams and now be 14 down against a tanking Jazz.......

Jesus Christ Knicks what is going on?
Like I said how do you smash the top teams and get spanked by this mob?

Jazz 11/13 3's and Knicks 4/13...

Mikal Bridges got to be moved on regardless of Giannis situation in the post season. Does not do enough consistently.

Now that’s more like it. The reverse psychology worked again for the Knicks

Putrid!

Funny thing is our remaining schedule we only have Rockets, Celtics and Thunder left that are ahead or around us and the rest is filled with Pelicans, Jazz, Nets, Bulls, Washington and of course our bogey team in the Pacers. We could go on a run that has us finishing anywhere from 1-3 in the East and lured into a false sense of where we are at or we could end up dropping games to these teams trying to tank and end up 4-6th. Nothing would shock me with this current team.

Why do folks keep grouping the Pels with the tanking lot? We're an honest team.

Sure it's down to our own stupidity, but still - we're having a crack. Forget our results, look at our outs, or lack thereof.

lol @ people not caring. He scored 83. It will be remembered and most people will forget how he got there.

Apparently the exact same thing happened in the Wilt game for 100. Foul after foul to get the ball back.

Kobe only shot free throws in last 3 minutes of his 81 didnt he?

Take away the free throws and he still scores 47. Give him his previous average of 4 FTM (rounded up from 3.7 to be generous) and that takes him to 51.

That's more than 'a good NBA night'.

There's being critical, then there's being silly.
