Wesley Matthews has stunk since getting paid big:

2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons - .444 FG%, .391 3PT%, .587 TS%, .253 FTr, 15.8 PER, .144 WS/48, paid $7,060,560.00 per season on average

2015-16 season to present - .396 FG%, .368 3PT%, .536 TS%, .188 FTr, 11.3 PER, .063 WS/48, paid $17,501,672.50 per season on average

Could it have something to do with being played out of position though?:

2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons - 76% minutes at SG, 24% of minutes at SF

2015-16 season to present - 35% minutes at SG, 65% of minutes at SF, 1% of minutes at PF

He did his Achilles in 2015.

Also Portland's 2013-15 team were better than Dallas's 2015-2018 team. It's not really a mystery.

Pretty exciting time to be a Thunder fan. Really enjoying the Westbrook and PG partnership, Russ has taken a step back and let PG dominate the scoring but Westbrook is still putting up insane stats. Any other Thunder fans on here?

Always great to hear from another Thunder fan around here, even if we rarely post on this thread.

PG has exceeded probably everyone’s expectations this season and has made this probably the closest roster we’ve had to the one that went to the finals back in 2012 which is exciting even though the Warriors make this effort fairly pointless.

There is a Thunder thread floating around someone that gets semi-busy every now and then (although not so much lately) if you want to talk with other Thunder fans.

Westbrook has made the triple double meaningless.

If he had even half a brain then he'd be the best player in the league.

As much as I love the guy, he will most probably cost us a play-off series if he keeps shooting the way he does, especially in crunch time of big games. Which is a shame because the rest of his play is as good as it’s ever been. He’s too much of a competitor to not die trying, which can lead to his downfall come playoffs.

He was on about $12m ... I always wonder how much these buyout people get. And Melo, he's still on the books too. We bought him out and almost ruined Houston at the same time. Losing on court but winning off court.

The style of play these days has made triple-doubles irrelevant IMHO. Big guys used to spend most of the night inside the paint at both ends of the court, and if you pulled in 10+ rebounds in a night, it was a great effort. Too many rebounds these days where 7 footers putting up 3s and everyone has run back in transition, the rebound just drops into someone's lap. Many of Westbrook's rebounds are uncontested. Not picking on Westbrook, there are many other players padding stats for the same reason. I yawn when I hear the term "triple-double".
