I'm excited to see Steph play again.

Meaningless game and not even a sneak peak at next season with Klay still out and no new pieces, but it's sad seeing the Warriors stink through injury.

Kawhi won two not that long ago so it's not as if non-bigs can't win.

I had Smart as a guard in my 1st team all-defense with Simmons at the ASB. DPOY seems like a stretch though ahead of Giannis and AD who are more impactful.

It's a shame smaller guys are overlooked these days.

DPOY has almost always been an award for big players.

Jordan won it once in 87/88, Payton once in 95/96. Sure, pre-Jordan it was won by guards 4/5 years but for the last 30 years it's been won by centres/forwards bar one season. It's not like Jordan, Payton, Kidd, Kobe who were always in the all defensive team were regular winners of DPOY.

Chris Paul is a 6 x steals leader and 7 x all defensive first team. But if you wanted to shut down a star PG/SG is he the first guy you'd pick?

Definitely agree there should be more emphasis on the 2/3 guys and not just 7 foot dudes with long arms. Kawhi is awesome because he can guard anyone. Draymond is a hustler who regularly fights up a weight division. Etc.
