Everyone please do yourselves a favour and watch the end of the Suns/Pelicans game. A more comical ending you will not see. Alvin has been damaged Son of Skeletor nufan
Elfrid Payton with his 4th straight triple double.
Averaging 35.75 minutes per game, 14.75 points (.420 FG%, .313 3PT%, .786 FT%) , 12.50 rebounds and 13.25 assists (and just 2.25 turnovers) across the last four games.
Given that they've traded away Otto Porter and Kelly Oubre, and Wall and Dwight Howard are injured, who else are they meant to give the touches to? Jabari Parker?
He's getting bulk minutes and touches on a weak/undermanned team (30-40 record now), and isn't shooting that great (.475 FG%, .350 3PT%, .823 FT% for the season, and .476 FG%, .359 3PT%, .854 FT% since Wall went down in December). Good on him for not folding up under the circumstances, but he's just really doing his usual thing at a greater volume because of the lack of other options.

His defence still sucks.
And that invalidates anything else positive or noteworthy that he does on the court then, right?
No, but there's a reason why neither the Magic nor the Suns were willing to bet the farm on him.
In less than four months he and Randle will both be free agents again - it will be interesting to see what kind of offers, if any, we give them. Personally I don't believe we should keep both, as starting both of them makes us defensively porous.
Perhaps keeping a good defensive player like Anthony Davis can help offset that...
We've got one of the top five defensive players on the planet in Jrue Holiday, and it still wasn't enough to offset it this season.
Well, Payton and Holiday playing in tandem has been inconsistent and limited (they've played 577 minutes together this season), and a Payton-Holiday-Randle-Davis line-up hasn't really played that much together (that quartet has played just 235 minutes together this season) either.
It seems like when Holiday and Davis have played their best basketball this year, Randle and Payton have been below their best or out of the line-up. Now that the latter two are rocking, Davis is on limited minutes/in limbo, and Holiday is injured.
Would be nice if the whole narrative of "Russ has taken a step back to let Paul George shine" could go away. He's still the exact same awful shot throwing up, wilding driving bricking machine he's always been. Couldn't imagine he unfun it would be to play with this guy.
The Knicks are underrated
Is Pau Gasol even in the Bucks plans? He's only played 3 of the 6 games so far.
Been pretty terrible as well. 30 minutes for 3 points on 1/6 shooting and minus 18 total.
Do they really need what he offers at this point? I feel like he's not really a fit with their gameplan.

Yeah, weird pickup.
Maybe insurance?
Still taking more than when KD was there. He's the same dude, just not replicating his historically high usage chasing stats season when he was on his own, he just stands off ball without moving anywhere for a few more possessions during a game now. He's taking 4 shots and 4 free throws less a game from before PG was there, which is basically unheard of for a guy in his prime.
He's definitely taken a step back.
He's still a chucker though, but that doesn't mean it's not true.
