Brad Scott is contracted until the end of next season and barring a Carlton like season he will be coach until then.Things can change quite a lot in a season and a half. The decision might be a straightforward one(eg we make or win a Gf or fall off the cliff). Im very confident that we will play finals this year.

We've actually gone full circle:

1) Beat the teams below us and get smashed by the teams at the top (2009-12)
2) Beat the teams around us and be competitive against the elite (2013)
3) Beat the elites and drop games to teams we shouldn't (2014)
4) Beat the teams below us and get smashed by the teams at the top (2015)
Full circle of poo.

We were thrashed again why are you so satisfied with the insipid shit this team serves up. You've been drinking the Kool Aid.
The only reason I am satisfied is that with each loss I get sympathy sex from the wife. Sometimes when you lose you actually win.

I performed - my team did not - but we lost to the best team missing 3 of our best 4 mids. We got thrashed because Scott does not park the bus in defence - think he should change this however.

End of the day a bad loss is not really a third world problem. There are more important things in life to get worried about. At least I can be amused at the kids in here throwing their toys out of the cot.

I wonder if Brad Scott & Hardwick genuinely believe they're teams are serious finals contenders, or do they just roll out what they think the supporters want to hear & deep down realise they're lists are very pedestrian?

Devil Fish, if they did realize their lists were pedestrian - can't comment on Tigers, but which I am beginning to fear is the case for us - what should they do? FA can fix up a missing position, if you're fortunate. Other than that its back to the draft, yeah?

Scott has been churning out the same lines in press conferences for the last 4 years.

He tries to tell us what we want to hear. I think he genuinely believes we have a good list which is why he sticks with players who underperform.

As a matter of interest.
Before a game was played this year, did you think we had a good list?

Pay him out and get worsfold. Premiership coaches don't grow on trees and I've absolutely had with this coach who treats his player like a vegan would treat beef.

I think we had a solid list which has potential. We made huge inroads last year by making a prelim and being competitive with all the best sides.

So many players have either stagnated or gone backwards this year. Injuries haven't helped but last year we were missing key players as well.

My biggest gripe is simply that this year the effort and intensity especially against the good sides just isn't there.

And a full circle of poo amounts to being in the same poo you started in.

I'm over Brad's message. I just watched his presser and he calmly says "We're not a good side" or words to that effect. Fair enough. On last night's showing alone you'd struggle to argue with that. But I reckon you'd find a presser in 2010 when he calmly said that. And 2011. 2012 too. Not to mention 2013 and 2014. And he's been right every time. But it's giving me the shits. 6 years of telling us how much better other sides are than us. It's like "Well, they're better than us, so getting our pants pulled down was always on the cards, so you can't be too surprised when it happens." It's bullshit. I'd rather "We came here expecting to win and we're ashamed we played like that. Totally unacceptable performance". I thought he'd turned the corner with this crap when he was clearly seething after the Adelaide game. We were a genuine finals side last year, made a Prelim - we ARE (or at least were) a good side, how about demanding that the players play like one. It's been 6 years of calmly explaining how average we are!

Maybe his message to the players is different but I'm sick of him hosing down what the side is capable of. Of course it would help if he had the side not playing the poo they did last night.

His way is to excuse poor performances.

His soft stance on this group is hilarious.

6 years an no consistency of effort. If we get to round 17 and are not in finals contention then Scott should walk or be pushed.

There can be no more excuses. The club has adequately supported him by bolstering his coaching team, development team and paying to the cap and he has had the backing to run things the way he has seen fit. And here we are 6 years later with the potential to play great football, some really strong defensive set ups but absolutely no backbone.

He has 10 weeks imo to save his job and to prove his method. If he can't then he should go, otherwise we will just waste another year.

Maybe it's a bit of self-preservation. Coaches get the chop when they fail to live up to expectations. 4 ten goal hidings in 9 games by a side who finished 4th the previous year is a side falling way below expectations. So, why not deflate all the expectations, almost accept that we could lose like that, try sell that the team is still a work in progress and mix it in with a calm and matter-of-fact demeanour? He's done it for 6 years - 6 years of moderate results without him ever really feeling the heat. Must work.

Or maybe I'm reading too much into it. Either way it shits me.

Edited to make Thewlis happy

Brad is a good media performer, he sells his message very well every week but I've been hearing the same messages for quite some time now.

I am a Brad Scott supporter, the last time I lost faith in him was that 100 point loss to Hawthorn in 2012 (I think) We recovered from that and looked to be on the right track. Successive floggings from top teams though has made me waiver again.

The players clearly love him, they think he is a great bloke who has their back and supports them Blah blah blah.

I want a ruthless coach who demands more from his players and has their respect not their love. I could see the players and our coach just chillin having a good laugh and such. I don't think for a second any Fremantle player loves thier coach or thinks of him as a mate but I reckon without doubt that they respect him. The love will come if they win the flag.

The above post is cheating WB. You can't use a footy forum to say there's more important things in life, there's actually not on BF. The reason this site exists is our love of the game, our day to day lives of work and death are put to one side.
