It's risk/reward. :) Kruezer is slightly more expensive, with a slightly less average. But is definitely secured his place in his team. :)

Why is their concern over Jamar's place in the team? He has been really good the last 2 weeks in Melb's wins, and has only missed games this season due to injury. He is clearly Melbourne's no.1 ruckmen, so i dont see him being dropped at any point (tho there are some concerns over his injury history)

If cox is out I may as well go for sandi I will be down to 2 trades and may as well use up the space.

Please be alright cox I need you.

So Cox will be out for 2-3 weeks at best, according to Worsfold.

This makes the decision pretty difficult IMO, esp if you're going for a league win and want to save trades for the finals. Not sure if I can survive the next three weeks with only one ruckman though, and even then Cox may not be right. I'd rather they just ruled him out for the season!

I have 5 trades left and a couple of must-win league games coming up (although they both have Cox too). Is it worth me biting the bullet and getting rid of him this week?

EDIT: this article says he may be out indefinitely - http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl/story/0,26576,25780423-19742,00.html

I'm curious, what is everyone gonna do if they don't confirm big Cox is out for the season but just list him as out for x amount of weeks?

I'd say HMac would be a good replacement if you don't already have him, otherwise Jolly.

If he's out this week, I'm getting rid of him. Three donuts in from him in 4 weeks is too much to take.

Probably Jolly for me.

It's interesting how different reporters interpret quotes differently.
IMO -
"Coach John Worsfold said neither player required season-ending surgery, and he was hopeful they would be available for selection in two to three weeks." and "At this stage we're hoping that they may only miss two or three weeks and we'll get them back up and going." means will see big Cox again this year :thumbsu:

I'm waiting a week to see if things are clearer next week.

I've been averaging 2100ish the last 3 weeks with either a Cox donut or an Ablett donut plus I have a soft league game this week.

In fact I think I am going to hold trading altogether because the Cox move is so important. 2-3 weeks = back for finals.

I'm trying to think outside the square here.

The person on top of my main league has Cox and Pyke on the bench but has K.Tippet in the forward line.

Would the idea of me replacing Cox with K.Tippet to block there K.Tippet be a good tactical move?

I am also thinking of upgrading Rich to Montagna too during finals time as they also have Montagna.

What does everyone else think about this strategy?

Personally i would rather differentiate and go for the win. I would pick players that they dont have on purpose. Back your own skills/team rather than taking a negative blocking approach. The aggressive approach is more fun too

Depends, do you rate your other 20 players higher than his other 20 players? Cause if you don't, you're just giving yourself less room to catch up! :)

There in lies the difference between the AFL website and the Herald Sun.

The AFL reports the facts, the Herald Sun try to sensationalise things and don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.

I learnt this the day the HS announced Wallace had been sacked - 2 weeks before it actually happened.

Take with a grain of salt anything the HS reports, they are nothing more than rumour spreading headline grabbers.

I was just looking through recent scores and Mitch Clark looks to be the best option, what are thoughts on him, will his scores suffer if or when Burger comes back in? my other ruck is H-Mac

Don't believe the burger will be back this year. The injury was a setback but on top of that he lost 12kg from an infection.

Mitch is going great guns but the question mark is whether he can last the year playing at his current level. Carrying the ruck load without the burger and Charman will have to take a toll sooner or later. Hopefully much later....

Think I might hold off trading him to make sure I get the right replacement. Also wouldn't mind Sandi dropping a bit with a BE of 133. With only 6 trades left any penny I can make will come in handy.

I'm trading HMac in for Cox. My feeling is the Cox injury will be more than 3 weeks and probably a season ending injury. Will see what happens. After this trade I will only have 1 trade left with a bit of money in the bank. So hoping to use this trade to upgrade a player grand final eve in my league.

I love to trade, but with only 4 trades left, I'm actually going to keep Cox in my team. Luckily for me, my last few league games are really just percentage boosters and with only 4 trades left, I'll trade Cox down the track when it's necessary, if and when he's out for the season, because I can definitely use those 4 trades for upgrades. I'd be devastated to trade him out and see him come back to finish the season.

On that though, if I was going to trade Cox, I think I'd go for Kreuzer

I'm waiting a week to see if things are clearer next week.

The problem with waiting a week or so is that two of the best replacement options - Kreuzer and Clark - have tiny BEs this week. That has me a little concerned. Having said that, Kreuzer will still be damn cheap next week if he continues scoring hundreds...

Depends what your after. You might not be able to make up the 80-100 points you lose from waiting... ;) But that's if you're concentrating more on your overall score, instead of your league GF...

my league is very close 10 players on same score so any points lost carrying a donut is crucial not making finals. cant make up % because of so many common players so outright is the only way to make finals. will see if my next 3 opponents have cox or not
