Let’s not pretend the Premier League isn’t just as, or probably even more, corrupt than the AFL is. The FFP rules in particular.

We have Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) in the Championship, which allows the 3 relegated sides from the PL to spend a kings ransom while the rest of us battle against rules which are designed to make us non-competitive if we do go up. Makes what Sunderland are doing this year even more impressive.

FFP is a joke and is designed to stop teams like Leicester from challenging the elites. Man City being penalised when they've spent money well on the likes of Haaland, David Silva, Kompany etc while Man Utd have been able to spend hundreds of millions on the likes of Antony, Hoijlund, Pogba, Maguire etc is ridiculous. While I hope Man City are punished, I hope it proves the point that the rules aren't fit for purpose. It won't.

Hard to see where they're picking up points from here on current form. West Ham have a much easier run in in comparison.
