Just picked up a strong but unconfirmed rumour that Keon Clark is going to sign for the Kings.

This would create a front court log jam at Sac Town BUT ties in with another rumour going around yesterday, which I thought was a lot weaker at the time, suggesting the Kings were looking to package CWebb and either Peja or Hedo (probably the latter) and offer them the the T'Wolves for Garnett.

If, and I only say if, this came off the Kings would have:

Bibby
Christie
Peja
Garnett
Divac

as a starting 5 with an option of Clark in the frontcourt, either as a straight swop for Vlade or to bump KG down to the 3. Or maybe Pollard filling the same role.

Could of course depend on Webber's situation with the Sherriff.

Van Exel may not be the answer for the Knicks but it would mean, subject to the fitness of McDyess, they have upgraded significantly in two positions.

A backcourt of Van Exel, Houston and Sprewell has an ok balance to it. And if Nick doesn't work out there should be a good crop of PGs coming out next year.

Of course, the Knicks main problem is still the Houston contract.

Well you have a point. Van Exel would sure up there PG spot and with SG, SF and PF already wrapped up the starting 5 wouldnt look at all bad. But honestly can they handle Van Exel's and Sprewell's ego in the same team. Not to mention shots...all 4 will want there shots. Individually all four are good players, im just not sure they would play that well together.

Besides i think it is the 5 spot they should be trying to cover...not the point. Spree and Houston can do that or they can just get a role playing PG.

Not a chance in hell. There is no way in anyones mind that C-Webb and Peja or Hedo is worth just KG. C-Webb for KG straight up would be a swap for likely but it just wouldnt happen.

Webber is a better player that KG and suits the Kings down to a tee. I dont think the Kings will do any moves this offseason because they know they should have beaten the Lakers and didnt perhaps because of a little inexperience. Plus Peja was injured. If they get back there again i doubt they will lose again.

Clark is a possbility though as he's a free agent. They may add a player but no trades will be made.

No doubt Jod. Sprewell and Van Exel would be like a time bomb waiting to go off. The off field problems would only be matched by their on field ones. Houston is a good shooter, but he needs a pass first shoot second PG. New York fans will start turning on their own by Christmas!

I would dispute strongly that Webber is a better player than Garnett. Webber also carries a load of baggage

If the Kings get Clark such a trade could happen but my source on the trade is not necessarily reliable.

I agree on the Van Exel/Sprewell timebomb but some NBA front offices have been known to lack sense at times.

The Knicks have also upgraded at centre from most of last year's team.

The name

Michael Doleac.

C'mon it's better than Marcus "I need a bed" Camby or Felton (Pizza please!) Spencer:)

The Knicks are also interested in Alonzo Mourning.

But honestly, who would they trade?

The Heat want an expiring contract and young players for him.

Would have to be a 3 way trade.

No way....Webber brings it every night. KG tends to go missing a lot of the time. Garnett is good but not worth C-Webb.

I will agree with Jod, Webber has become more consistent. KG tends to be very streaky, gets some big figures, then disappears for a patch.

j.mcginnis to the blazers..

who recently signed PG daniels, and now another PG to back up stoudamire ?? two decent PG's who could (and have) been starters..

hmmm.. a major trade looming... ?

I am all for this trade. Bring it on.

It will make the Wolves a little stronger, but the Lakers would still have their measure. The Kings on the otherhand could cost them a couple of games and position come playoff time.

Seems a little stupid to me. Webber is all class, and Garnett while a fine player isn't in his league... yet.

You sure. We are talking about the Kings. For forty years this franchise has been plagued with poor management. What one more mistake in the Franchises history. If I was a Kings fan I would be expecting it.

Donyell Marshall to the Bulls.

Rodney Rogers to the Nets.

Two good pick ups.

I've liked Marshall for a while now, but he never really had the chance to shine in Utah.

Rogers gives even more depth to the Nets. A fine 6th man.

its official...

k.clark to the kings

aj.guyton to the lakers

matt harpring to the jazz

............

thats a stunner for the kings...

harpring to the jazz is also a good one, after the loss of donyell marshall...

A great pick up for my beloved Bulls!

Marshall is a pretty good player without the ego and dollars. Has averages of 14 and 7 last year and will sure up the SF/PF spot for the Bulls next season. Really nice move and im beginning to think we wont be all that bad next season.

Clark to the Kings is a real warning. The Kings are coming, simple as that. Certainly second favourites for the title now. Clark really bolsters there front court which already boasts Divac and C-Webb.

Harpring to the Jazz pretty much pushed Marshall out the door but the Jazz seem happy with Harpring instead of Donyell?? Should be a reasonable pick up but wont bring any sort of title to Utah any time soon.

Rodgers to the Nets is another great move for New Jersey. They really are making waves to be even more of a contender this year. Mutombo and Rogers are pretty good pickups and should further there claims to a title.

A.J Guyton to the Lakers is a HUGE move...literally guarantees them a championship :D

Patrick Ewing and the Orlando Magic have parted ways :( Ewing is one of my favourite players and if it is the end of his career it would be a sad ending. Hopefully the Kings or someone pick him up so he can get an easy ride to a championship.

I still think he is worth something. He averaged 6 and 4 last season as a back up center which arent bad numbers. Maybe he can still find a home and have a send off season.

Also interesting to note...and correct me if im wrong here but Timmy Hardaway still hasnt being signed up by anyone since being waived by Denver. Surely he would be worth picking up for his clutch shooting, experience and his ability to dish the rock. Could be a great pick up for a club looking for a PG....Boston anyone?

Two big wins there. The Kings were already a bee's **** away from the promised land.

Rodgers and Mutombo give NJ a better balance. If they gel and stay clear from injuries/suspensions, they will be contenders. Rodgers will appreciate the service from Kidd.

Spot on. Almost even favourites with the Lakers in my opinion.

lol.. hahaha..

re p.ewing... please, retire... its just too painful to watch...

Anybody got any news on the Timmy Hardaway front. Surely he is worth a back up role somewhere. He certainly isnt a has been and could still contribute 15 to 20 mins a night off the bench. A real leader, clutch shooter, can hit the three and is in the top ten all time in assists IIRC?

Coxon. Ewing is in discussions with the Wizards, possibly to become assistant coach. End of a great career.

The Cavs will likely match the T'Wolves offer for Davis, and keep him.

Ive heard that Ewing has a great desire to coach so hopefully he will become a great coach and win the title he never got as a player. It wont be the same but at least its something. If he does retire, the end of an awesome career and one of the greatest centres to ever play the game.

The Blazers have waived Shawn Kemp.

The deal seems to involve Kemp giving up the rest of his contract but Portland paying him $2 million a year for the next ten years.

Strange.

Five Pizza houses in Portland have already closed down following the news!
