I'm supposed to be going out tonight and I am seriously debating whether I should, don't think I could bear the celebrations...ah there goes my phone again...
I have switched off my phone and locked myself in the house. The streets have been taken over by the sea of teal:(:(:(

That's the bonus of being in Europe right now - otherwise I would be getting the same

I can't escape it even at home-my dad's been gloating ever since I got home grrrrrrrrrr. My mum(who went for Port because they're an SA team) had a Port scarf(given to her by my nephew who used to be a Port supporter but who I converted last year and now is a die hard Crows fan sent it to my dad because he doesn't want it anymore-that was the good news, giving away his Port scarf after they had just won the Premiership warmed my heart 'cos now I know he'll be with the Crows forever :D )and wanted to fly it out my car window!!! i was like NO WAY is that coming into my car let alone flying out the window, it seems like the world's gone crazy today. It's all good though our time will come again...that's what's keeping me going

macca23 has spent the last 5 days in Ireland and hasn't had a chance to get near an internet cafe. He's been spending every night down the Irish pubs and can't stop raving about them. He reckons the Irish people are fantastic and has absolutely enjoyed his time there - they move on to Wales today.

He managed to kiss the Blarney Stone to help with the gift of the gab (like he needs and help) so he reckons watch out KG when he is back.

To all the Port supporters - macca23 asked me to pass on his congratulations. In his words - the best side all year and a thoroughly deserved result.
I'm also hoping to see Ireland next year. Don't mind a Kilkenny or 2 either. I reckon Macca must of known that Port were going to win, which is why he planned being out of the country. ;) Also, had my fair share of SMS's from Port supporters & from people I didn't even know were Port supporters!

Tredders16 would like to formally apologise to macca23 and Fergus for annoying the absolute crap-per out of them on Saturday night. I was a little over the edge and couldn't hold back my emotion. I still can't believe that my footy club at Queen St, Alberton have got an AFL cup. This will be cherished for many years to come. Thanks guys.

Let me know when you get to Ballyshannon, Donegal; Macca, I might be able to line you up with a redhead who has the most beautiful blarney stone that she rubs with two fingers.

Its actually a pebble. It was discovered one day by mistake and it does actually grow.

Gotta go to the Hofbrau house while he in Munich, great beer and it comes in 1 litre steins so what more could you ask for?
Its a great place, its huge and I have never seen so much beer being drunk at one place, I was in heaven.
Hitler actually started out there having meetings and stuff to get the Nazi party started up, he got the idea of the scwazsticker (sp?) design from a painting of flags on the roof....interesting place.

When I was at the Hofbrau haus you could tell the Germans from the tourists, generally the tourists were the ones slumped over their glasses or passed out on the table. The germans were the ones yelling Prost! (german for cheers) and drinking mouthful after mouthful...it was an experience I tell ya.
After visiting Germany I am slowly coming round to Becks, I hated it before I left but I even found myself buying a 6 pack of it the other day so I guess the transition is complete. :D

Hi Guys - and gals

Went there a couple of days ago. Mid-day and the place was chockers with drunkards - all tourists.

DT, maintaining the rage is over, mate.

Every person I asked in Ireland what they thought of Craig said they were very happy.

We all love the craic, they'd say!!

Not only do they love him, but they can't spell either!! ;)

Ireland was a ball - they must be the best pubs in the world IMO and the Irish are fantastic people.

Cheers to everyone and I'll catch up with everyone on my return in mid- October or maybe I'll find another internet cafe - if I get time!!

It's trade week next week isn't it. I heard that we have poached Alan Stewart from Port - good stuff. Let's hope that we get something decent for Stinga, and any other trade that we do.

Ciao for now!!

Bona Sera senors and senoritas.

Has anybody ever been to Rome? it's an absolutely chaotic madhouse. But I love it just the same. First day here today, and I can say without fear of contradiction, not one local gives a damn about Neil craig. On the plus side they don't give a fat rat's clacker about Port winning the AFL flag either. :D

I heard that Josh Carr has announced that he wants to go back west. His body is probably floating in the Port river as I write - they turn pretty quickly down there on the other side of the tracks. Congrats again to those port fans who might be reading this. Enjoy it while you have it - they are sooooooo hard to win!!

I hope you all are enjoying your studies or jobs. This is bloody hard work being a tourist and eating and drinking your way through so many countries - but someone has to do it!!

Big day ahead, time to go to bed in a few minutes so ciao for now!!

1. No but I plan to go someday. The culture in Italy is just amazing. As well as the History behind the monuments and buildings...the place just feeds on a magnificent culture. :) Macca, just curious and all, have you ever seen Roman Holiday? :p

2. Rub it in why don't you! ;) Keep safe Macca.

True, it has a marvellous history - the Colosseum in particular blew me away. St Peter's basilica was outstanding even if it was the 500th cathedral I'd seen while away.

But it's full of millions of peopel who act a if there's virtually no rules whether as a pedestrian or driver. Give me Ireland every time - number one by a mile with the greatest people I've met while away and great pubs.

The tourist caper is almost over - I'm in Singapore at the moment and it is soooo hot and humid. Besides after flying from Paris I've had no sleep for about 34 hours, and I've got the graveyard flight durung the middle of the night tomorrow.

I'm all touristed out - but what an experience!!

Catch you all from home :D in a couple of days.

Ciao for now!!

If you think thats bad, you should go to Belgrade :D:p
you should try working it out in India, one billion people, small roads, no rules.... leads to a lot of fun :p

and best thing is if you do manage to get pulled over by the police it only costs you a $2 AU bribe to get out of it... funny stuff!

I know RooDog - I am amazed there are no F1 Indian drivers. It is amazing how used you get to the incessant honking of horns. I was only scared once while in a taxi in Mumbai and this was from the only taxi driver that used his indicator. It's a pity our little video does not show exactly how bad the drive was and how close to the other cars this guy was driving!

i know exactly what you mean! We went for 3 weeks and just when it seemed we got to the honking, we would go out to a little town for 3 days, come back and it would drive us nuts. That was the one thing i could never understand was the noise and with so many motorists it was loud! Yeah they do drive pretty scraily too... rather frighteningly too.. we were returning to Trichy from Madurai at night... our van decided on one of Tamil Nadus bussiest highways to pull out to overtake on a blind corner.. i think the 8 aussies in the car shat themselves but the driver and his partner were as if it was just a part of everyday life! also obvioulsy there is no insurance over there, everytime we saw an accident, the drivers would get out. scream at eeach other in Tamil. then drive off. rather amusing that part :p

I just love the fact that a single lane road all of a sudden becomes 3 lanes as they all decide to try and get the front position - especially in Mumbai it's crazy to walk oblivious on the sidewalk as they will use that too. I remember reading once that there is an order to who has preference on indian roads:
goats, dogs and cats
pedestrians
cyclists
those little three wheel cycle taxis (really funny when they keel over! - we have also managed to fit 5 people in one of them too)
cars
buses
trucks
and then they all stop for the cow!

haha yes! there are not often lanes at all in peak hour... people just drive where there was a space and one way streets often end up becoming 2 way streets! those 3 wheel taxis are great, we got 5 in one too, was quite a squeeze! there all yellow or yellow and black too which i found amazing. One day we were doing about i suppose it wouldve been 100kms on a highway which in itself was amazing because normally you dont go that fast in India and a cow stepped onto the road, our driver breaked and ran off the road just to avoid hitting it! Our drive was a Hindu as many Indians are (92% from memory) and everytime there was a hindu shrine on the side of the road he woudl stop and him and his friend would get out, place money on the shrine, bow and pray and then our journey could continue, mustve worked we never crashed! :p i love India, its things like this that make it such an amazing place if you ask me!

Well, the holiday is over and I've been so stuffed since I got back , I didn't have the energy to even switch on the computer - this tourism is exhausting!! ;)

Actually I had a ball. A toss-up between Ireland and London for the number 1 slot - not to be missed, either of them. London is a city full of character and history while Ireland is full of great people, pubs and scenery. As for the European segment, I'd have to give the nod to Innsbruck and Lucerne for natural beauty, Venice was different and Paris magnificent. The other cities were good too.

It was the trip of a lifetime, but I have to say this - we live in the best country in the world. No doubt!!

Great to be back.
