isnt it funny? when players come into the league they say they wanna win titles. but in reality its all about the money, cars, whores, and their own stats. then as career winds down they're like "ohh, yeah its time to win a chip".
I would be very surprised if AK47 does not have pretty nice little pay out in Russia away from the prying eyes of the NBA.

Sounds like a good idea for a poll. I'm leaning towards whores at this point.

I think the max contract label is confusing in the NBA these days. A max for Dwight start off at some $20 million per season but a max for Wall starts off at some $13 million which is a significant difference.

The Max contract is variable value based on amount of years in the league and their previous wage. Both of those contracts are the maximum the players can be offered.

Also has anyone been following Greg Oden's health? Is he closer to his last break down or his next break down? Hawks are chasing him.

I'm pretty sure he hasn't had any surgery since early 2012, so he has been healthy for a while now. He's looking thinner than he was during some of his time at Portland, which I think was one of the reasons for his injuries, and carrying less weight will go a long way to keeping him healthy. Would be interested to see his current weight

Guys who had microfracture surgery and played well (courtesy of wiki)

Jason Kidd, Steve Yzerman, John Stockton, Kenyon Martin,Zach Randolph, and Amare (i guess)

Guys who didnt

Ron Harper, Brian Grant, Chris Webber, Allan Houston, Penny Hardaway, the late Derek Smith,Jamal Mashburn ,Terrell Brandon and T-Mac

A more detailed list is here

http://www.sonicscentral.com/microfracture.html
The only big guy to come back well is Z-Bo, and to a lesser extent Amare. Doesnt bode well for a big guy coming off 3 microfractures

Is 'playing well' a relative thing?

Ron Harper played a different role, but still contributed- he's got the rings to prove it.

Hmm.. I cant find any evidence of him actually having the procedure. Regardless, he was never the same after his injuries at the Clips, but yeah he played a big part in the latter stage of the Bulls run

A lot of those guys were close to 40!
Greg is only now 25 and had his last surgery just after his 24th birthday. If you look at the guys on that list who had the microfracture at 25 or younger it's pretty much Amare and Randolph, who both came back and become All Stars. Basically the only guy under 30 on that list who didn't come back/wasn't able to reach their potential was Darius Miles.

I know he had a really serious injury in maybe his 3rd or 4th year in Cleveland, but he still put up 20ppg for the Clips.

How old was he on the Lakers championship team peternorth? Was still playing a heap of minutes then too.

Brian Grant had a decent career too.

Oden seems like a different case altogether- this guy has a pretty strong opinion..
