Woj:

Garnett has two years, $24.4 million left on his Celtics deal, but there's a growing belief that he'll play one more season before retiring and joining his old coach, Flip Saunders, with a ceremonial role in Minnesota Timberwolves ownership, league sources told Y! Sports.

"The opportunity will be there for him," one source said, "but there's nothing decided yet."

Funny how quickly forget about Rondo.

Rondo is one of the best five playoff performers of the past few seasons, Rondo is a consistent player who makes the right play, grabs boards and penetrates.

Paul, Rose and Parker are better although Rondo has lifted his game to levels above them in the post season. Westbrook versus Rondo is debatable.

Irving is a one way player who Rondo craps all over defensively and in the passing game. I'd take Rondo over Williams purely because he performs in big games and hasn't had lapses like Williams in two seasons.

I haven't forgotten anything. Rondo is an offensive hole, apart from his assists which will reduce in numbers now that Boston are on the rebuild. His new team will not be able to make shots as consistently as Ray Allen, Duncan or KG could. I honestly don't think they will trade him but it would be in their best interest to get the most out of him while they can and try to target (if they can get it that is) the #1 pick and build around Wiggins.

edit: Let's not forget that Rondo is also coming off an ACL and he has that elbow injury to contend with too.

I'll give you Irving but that's only because he's still young and is also yet to play in a playoff match.. But Westbrook/Paul/Rose/Parker/Williams are all better than Rondo and even better during the post season when stacked against Rondo.

Honestly if I'm Boston the only thing I have left is Rondo. ACL and elbow, so do a Rose and take most of the season, tank it up big time and rebuild through the draft and FA class 2014.

No one is trading the number 1 pick for Rondo next year. I'm hoping if Ainge cleans house and goes on a complete rebuild Rondo steps it up and stops playing such a passing game.

That's all well and good but I don't see Rondo missing the whole season meaning they'll probably get themselves out of the bottom 10 (overall). They are in the East remember and it only takes 38 wins being .463 to make the playoffs (sorry bucks)

I think if they trade Pierce/KG and rest him they are in with shot at top 5-8 pick next season.

Unless all he does is shoot over the next season I doubt his shot will improve all that much. I mean he equalled his career high in PPG this year with.... 13.7 :eek: His career average is 11.1 and at most I see maybe a 5-8 point improvement and that's generous. 18-20 PPG would be a huge improvement but I don't see it happening. As I stated before I think his assists will drop a lot too (if) they trade Pierce/KG.

While I agree with the notion of it being time for Celtics to blow it up and rebuild, you should never pin your hopes of a kid coming out of high school! Two years ago Harrison Banes was the next hottest thing, a franchise player. He is a good young player but certainly not a franchise player!

A year ago it was Shabazz! Again, will have a good NBA career but not a franchise player. You only get Timmy Duncan or LeBron James once a generation.

I really want the Pacers to fix their bench in the off-season.

Green, Augustin, Hansbrough (x2), Pendergraph, Young, Mahini, Johnson and Plumlee doesn't inspire much confidence. Hopefully Granger can come back okay next year, but I'd rather Stephenson starting over him in the hope Granger can provide scoring off the bench. Not sure if he'll settle for that role though. Trade the pick and Green and Augustine to get some help there. Letting T. Hansbrough walk is a tough one. I'm unsure. Our core is solid, but unfortunately we regressed in our personnel last off-season.

Because hiring and ex-NBL coach worked out so well for the Cats... Brett Brown to interview for Philly.

Whispers about Deng to the Cavs or Wizards, but both seem a bit far fetched. The Wizards deal of Okafor and the 3 pick has been shot down by Washington 'sources'.

The #Nets and #Timberwolves are discussing a trade that would send Marshon Brooks to Minnesota. Intriguing for sure. #NBA

Heard that too, he didn't deny any of it though. Just the old "take it one season at a time". Which could also mean "bring me some decent teammates soon please".

Rumor: Orlando Magic trading Aaron Afflalo to the LA Clippers for Eric Bledsoe/Caron Butler. Deal expected Thursday. (Source: Mark Heisler)
hmmm. would love to hear thoughts of magic fans. bledsoe is so highly rated. butler another player to have played for both miami state teams. he also played for both LA teams. first player to do that (if lamar goes to orlando he will be the second).

It'll be good to see Bledsoe perform with more minutes.

This not only adds to the many assets Hennigan is building in Orlando, but also changes who the Magic would be targeting in the draft sincenthey were in desperate need of a young point guard.

If McLemore drops, he'd be perfect.

He's dropping past the Cavs, guaranteed
