I know they are not a big market but if they can somehow sell the future to a star and dump all the picks on another superstar they are going to be scary good.

They are legit doing a 2k rebuild in real life lmfao.

I hope they can manage to pull it off especially after how their last core of MVP's turned out.

It's going to be very interesting in 5-10 years time to see what they have managed to build from all these draft assets.

It would be cool if okc win the lottery.

Hopefully they get the rockets pick too , at pick 5.

Wojnarowski] The Celtics are trading Kemba Walker, the No. 16 overall pick in the 2021 draft and a 2025 second-round draft pick to Oklahoma City for Al Horford, Moses Brown and a 2023 second-round pick, sources tell ESPN.

Looks like a very good trade.for okc...

Imagine SGA, Dory, Cade, pick 5 and a mountain of other picks and a ton of future cap space...

Not really only a terrible GM would give him that contract...

Sigh.

He was worth it for how much he complimented tatum and brown.

They apparently offered 90mil why not just give the 100 to keep him.

Might be too late now..Horford is 35 and maybe cooked. Giving away first round pick and third best player too..

Sam trust the process.

Depends really, if they thought 90 was already a ton of money for Horford (i do) adding an extra 10 on top is significant. He is slowing down and i think has to play centre going forward for them.

It's not great but not exactly terrible:
Aging Horford guaranteed $53 mill for 2 years in a back up C role
Vs
Aging and injured Walker guaranteed 73 odd mill..

Moses Brown is a sweetner as a promising 2 way tall.

Would rather an aging tall in Horford and a developing tall with cap flexibility over a short (but good) guard who is injury prone and aging in his role.

Walker is a ticking time bomb on big coin and with his knees degenerative condition only a matter of time before he is another IT.

Nice of Boston to make such a bad trade

History will be the judge of whether this ends up being true.

Nevertheless this is why teams don't buy out players with three years left of their deals. Or at least one of the reasons.

Wouldn't put it past Presti to turn Kemba into yet more future draft assets.

That's where I draw the line as a Rockets fan, the season was bad enough already.

So they can take on the same amount of years for more money?

Looks alright if they can find a player at 16

No, so they can gain an asset rather than pay years worth of dead money for a guy playing for another team.

You only buy out if the possibility of extracting an asset is zero. Like with the Pistons and Griffin.

No it's not. Kemba and his contract was massive and would hold us back going forwards.

And with his crook knees and money he was on,we were not getting much value for him in a trade.

Rumour has it that Marcus Smart is next on the trading block.

If word is true (players feel he was coaches pet and could do no wrong) then yep.
