The celtics and cavs headline todays slew of games. Boston need the win to reclaim or go equal at and on top spot

Orlando have won 11/12. But are tied up at HT in Brooklyn. This with Ben Simmons playing a minor role.

Claxton loves a cheap shot. Absolute scrub

Beard turning back the clock and Clippers randomly being good is not something I saw happening with no Kahwi.

I think this is the first time I've ever clicked on Norman Powell, I thought he was a nothing backup PF but he's actually a guard and one of the best shooters in the league and has been for some time?

Norman Powell is the name of a paint bruiser damnit.

With the Utah lakers game, AD would’ve blocked sextons shot anyway but elected not to as he’d heard the whistle.

Hali is in a decent dip in form.

I think it is great that knecht wears the number 4 has to be a gag on the game connect 4 😂.

Ouch. Murray goes 2-15 while an afterthought in the trade for him drops 19 with 4 steals.

Passing judgement on the trade is fair, but the bolded is categorically untrue.

We took Daniels at #8 in the draft, and played him over 2,400 mins before he hit the age of 21, so we obviously rated him. He was part of the meat and potatoes of the trade, not a throw in. The throw-in, if there was one, was Nance, but even that was for salary matching purposes.

The idea that Daniels was frozen out in New Orleans is a myth.

Was more going off the reporting of the trade. No idea internally what teams thought.

Weird seeing New Orleans 4-18.
Zion believed his own hype? Guy is an afterthought

Can't speak for what reporters initially said, but this was from ESPN a couple of weeks back:

Windhorst: The Pelicans weren't anxious to trade Daniels in the package for Murray last summer and tried to keep him out of the deal, sources said, but the Hawks badly wanted someone who could help protect Young on defense. New Orleans had already paid Herb Jones and was lining up to pay wing Trey Murphy III -- they ultimately gave him $112 million over four years -- and that made Daniels expendable.

The reason we traded Daniels was because we needed a point guard who could shoot. Daniels was (and is) tracking the same way as Lonzo Ball, drafted as a point guard but clearly an off-ball 2/3 who is primarily a defender and open court player. Why we let Lonzo walk in FA I still have no idea, but trading Daniels made more sense given we've just invested in Herb and Trey, as per the above.

The main difference between Daniels in New Orleans and Daniels in Atlanta is that he's less reticent to shoot now. We gave him the best shooting coach in the business in Fred Vinson, so for once that wasn't our fault. We can be bagged for making the trade, but the idea that Daniels wasn't valued at either end is a nonsense.
