Former MSU and current NBA star Draymond Green was arrested for assault early Sunday morning after a source tells 6 News the basketball player slapped an MSU football player.
The source knows Green and is in a position to know his side of the story.
The run-in with the football player actually stretched back to late Friday night/early Saturday morning, when the source says Green and the football player ran into each other at a local bar.
The source says the player felt disrespected because Green didn’t recognize him and insulted the Golden State Warrior.
Green, the source says, decided to leave the bar.
But a day later, at around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, the source says the player ran into Green again at a downtown East Lansing restaurant and continued to curse at him. The source says the football player started moving towards Green, so Green slapped him with an open hand.
Got a feeling that MSU probably won't like a player trash talking the guy that just donated $3M to the school...
